It's only just occurred to me after all this time but, is the shit rebrand to JaGuar based on the American 2-syllable pronunciation?
Re: Jaguar?
Agreed, and it looks like something you see in Cyberpunk, I like it as a design piece.integrale_evo wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 10:10 pm I like that they’ve had the balls to do something crazy.
But I don't know who the target market is here. Would someone looking for a Bentley or Rolls go for this? Although lets be honest, the image of the latter two isn't great, you mainly see them being driven by footballers, rappers and gangsters, so they're not really a classy choice these days.
Re: Jaguar?
I think it's to do with out the text spells out on the new grill, and that they didn't want the tail from a lowercase 'g' below the line.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 11:27 pm It's only just occurred to me after all this time but, is the shit rebrand to JaGuar based on the American 2-syllable pronunciation?

Re: Jaguar?
Did a search and apparently it's JaGUar. So maybe it is pronunciation based but with the emphasis on the native British. A subtle dig at the Yanks maybeSimon wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 11:15 amI think it's to do with out the text spells out on the new grill, and that they didn't want the tail from a lowercase 'g' below the line.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 11:27 pm It's only just occurred to me after all this time but, is the shit rebrand to JaGuar based on the American 2-syllable pronunciation?

Re: Jaguar?
They should have gone back to this design

ETA: 2 minutes with ChatGPT made something that is infinitely better. They should just used AI

The more I look at this car the more I like it. I think they’ve realised what we love about really great cars is the shit bits aka the flaws, so they’ve gone out their way to build some in
Re: Jaguar?
They’re already in the London showroom. Spotted from an Uber so I couldn’t get a proper look at it

After seeing the HM video, i’m even more sure if this, those back doors are a disaster. The doors have to open by an extra foot or so to get into the tiny opening - so not only is it too long for parking spaces, you have no hope of getting in the rear.Rich B wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 3:52 pm Make it a 2 door again, then the lack of storage and practicality is not so much of an issue.

the buttons and menus are SO bad.,,

Re: Jaguar?
These do seem like the fundamental errors you'd commit if you'd never designed a car before. I just don't get it.
Re: Jaguar?
They also used someone who has never designed a car showroom to design their flagship showroom.
This evening I walked past it, the car was partially obscured by blinds and the lights were off. But the rest of the showroom was on display. Is this where you go to buy cars or a steak?

There’s also a final section I didn’t photo - it’s just the evolution of the leaper and small patches of the fabric used in the car. Honestly they may as well have made that bit a continuation of the restaurant as that seems to be the core business at this stage
