Re: Telephone Pole
Personally I don't think there should be any phone laws, we had driving without due care and attention and that should be enough.

I was quite happy being on my phone when it was legal but possibly affected my ...

I wonder if the law has/needs changing due to stop start tech?
It’s in the uk_gov link Jobbo posted
=====
The law still applies to you if you’re:
stopped at traffic lights
queuing in traffic
supervising a learner driver
driving a car that turns off the engine when you stop moving ...

Re: Telephone Pole
It's not ambiguous - it is holding the phone in your hand which is an offence. Hands-free means it's in a mount, not that you're using Siri. Other resources are available to remove ambiguity: https://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/ask-the-police/question/Q955 for example.

Is the car running if the engine isn't on? Or do they just go from ignition being live - I guess that covers EVs too..

Re: Pigs in blankets
We had sausages in bacon with our Christmas roast as children. They were just called sausages in bacon.
Pigs in blankets feels fairly modern and also stupid. I would usually assume it had come from the US of A
This is what 'mericans consider Pigs in Blankets - hotdogs in pastry.

Re: Ashes
They seem to have forgotten the art of the 5 day format
Re: Ashes
Part of the problem here is hoping to see a lead. Australia had more than a day to post their total and we would need similar. I just hoped to have not lost too many wickets rather than be leading already. That said, 6 of the 8 wickets were to defensive shots, either good balls or bad luck, not the ...

The west coast of Tassie is fantastic driving roads - all immaculately tarmacked too, presumably for/due to Targa.
Got the boat over, stopped at Cradle Mountain for a couple of nights then due west and down to Queenstown, east and down to New Norfolk and back to civilisation of Hobart. Just had ...

Targa Tasmania is back after 3 years in the *ahem* wilderness after a number of deaths and a falling out with Australia's main motorsport body.
Whilst the rules seem to have been made stricter and speed limits imposed the fact the lead three cars are a R35 GTR, an Exige V6 and a Viper ACR is ...

Definitely sounds like a battery dieing but also definitely coming from the consumer unit.

Re: Any Sparky's in the house
Unusual for a consumer unit to have anything that beeps. Do you have any CO alarms or smoke alarms nearby? Sounds more like something battery powered is dying
I thought so too!
