I only know that high testosterone is a huge advantage, some produce more than others but that’s all. Certainly a woman wouldn’t produce a man’s amount.

She underwent testosterone testing for the IBF though. That’s why she was banned from there.

Do the olympics not test for testosterone ?
(Just read if your level is 10nMol/L or lower then that’s ok, which is crazy as 18 months ago mine was 2, so I could compete as a woman 🤔)

No idea on chromosomes and what part they play though.

Sorry it was IBA and they categorically mentioned chromosomes and that they didn’t test for T

Ahh ok, that’s pretty clear. So if she is a woman and was born a woman, where did the issue stem from ?

It doesn’t explain why the hell athletes aren’t being tested for it though, that seems crazy due to the massive advantages it gives.

People misinterpreting the disqualification and deciding they were both trans. People who are influencing government have spent all week calling them men.

There you go I learnt a thing, Swyer syndrome.

I don’t know if it’s confirmed she has it but from a glance it doesn’t appear to offer advantages physically. It’s like a woman but no hormone production. Testosterone should be even lower than in a woman without it.

What I can say is that the Algerian woman has boxed and lost at the Olympics before and no one gave a shit till the likes of Rowling and Davies started calling her a man on social media.
I just popped onto Twitter and JKR's comments were on my feed, it's absolutely abhorrent how she's stirring this up based on lies calling it "Men's power movement" and stating that Khelif is male. It does nothing for anyone, and just spreads misiniformation.

She’s part of a hate cult.

Truth has no value to her.

And that cult seems to be shouting loudest because you have to do a bit of digging before you arrive at the truth of the matter.

A casual glance would lead you to believe it’s a case of “Born a man, is transitioning, fights in the women’s class by virtue of how she identifies” which plainly isn’t the case at all.

The Caster Semenya comparison is right. And If I recall correctly, she got a lot more sympathy for her plight. Not sure why that is to be honest…

that comment did seem odd - “men revelling in their power over women”. i know there’s clearly some ambiguity here with the information on various tests and reports, but one person with confusing genetics is hardly “men revelling in their power” - it’s probably the complete opposite imo.

I’m glad this is finally exposing this to the casual viewer tbh.

Like, people have been trying to show how fucked up the stuff she’s been saying is for years but the response is “the harry potter lady, why would she do that?”.

AIUI Semenya is different again as they have testes and have fathered children.

But what I do find odd is that there's a suggestion that boxers aren't routinely tested for testosterone levels, which I thought other athletes were? My understanding is that those with high levels (including trans athletes) have previously been allowed to compete as long as they take medication to reduce their testosterone levels.

But as said already - there seems to be a cloud of uncertainty over what has/does go on in terms of testing.

I believe the IOC does test for testosterone and they were allowed to compete on that basis.

It must be very confusing for those poor sportswomen when their valiant defenders keep moving the goalposts on who is acceptably woman enough in their eyes.

If that's true then why the hell haven't they been clear on that in their press briefings? Mental!

I’m not sure, that part seems to exclusively be reported on mumsnet.

She does have two daughters with her wife but no one has said where the sperm came from afaik.

There are a few articles out there with an interview from their wife on the birth of their 2nd child, which seem to suggest it's their sperm via artificial insemination.
