Why the F1 over the Manuel SJ?
I'm sure both would be fabulous just a question as the market seems to favour a Manuel!
It does, and that probably was the deciding factor in all honesty, that on my budget a manual was unlikely to happen. The silver manual that I posted was sold almost instantly. I enquired about it, it's due to be collected next week, but the seller is leaving the advert running until it's gone. Not very helpful !
But also I was F1-curious. I've never had an automated manual. From what I've read they're just a bit marmite, as opposed to being universally slated. I figured they'd be more
RACE CAR and that seemed appropriate on a car like this. And experiencing it today I was very impressed. In normal driving it's far smoother than I was expecting. Really smooth. It only gets harsh if you flat shift at high revs. A little practice (& mechanical sympathy) will help there. And honestly, I don't drive like that anyway.
The cabin is plenty big enough for me - better than the Aston - and the ride seemed fine. Engine noise is less than I expected too, even though it's right behind you. It's a bit of a weird feeling actually, looking over your shoulder and seeing the engine there ! It has a Capristo exhaust and it's too loud for me. I'm too old for that stuff. They seem to be worth good money though (like, £1k even second hand) so that'll be coming off and recouping some ££s. I've already got a stock exhaust on the way for £120

It also has an Alpine head unit & amp fitted; I'll replace those with Becker & JL from my stock and sell them on.
I'm paying £43,500 for the car, if I get £1k back from the exhaust and radio then I'm in for £42,500 in total and that seems like a good deal right now.
