Your fleet running reports
Re: Your fleet running reports
That does look good, better than any current BMW, Merc or VAG paint.
Re: Your fleet running reports
Also for the people who cba with claying have you tried the ones which just use water as a lubricant? I use AM Details but I think Bilt Hamber may be the same, just wash the car as normal and then clay it whilst the car is wet, have the hose on a light spray to keep the panels wet. I did the whole truck in less than 10 mins. Then dry car as usual.
Usually before you wax you should remove any previous coatings and oils so the new wax adheres better. I use Bilt Hamber cleanser which is just fancy IPA but it removes all the tar and sap which is left. Only way to remove tar quickly is with a solvent but that strips the wax so I only do it if I’m going to wax the car.
I think ceramic coatings claim to be solvent proof but it will reduce their life too but I don’t mess with them at all (that’s the actual ones sold in a tiny bottle for £££)

I had a Bilt Hamber bar that you could use with just water. I fecking hated it. Binned and got another brand for use with lube. I don't really like claying tar either, as it just introduces unnecessarily large clumps of crap into the bar.Mito Man wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 8:02 pm Also for the people who cba with claying have you tried the ones which just use water as a lubricant? Re: Your fleet running reports
I use a clay mit which you just dip in fresh soapy water.
It's not quite as effective as a proper bar, but very quick and easy and gets most of the crap off.

Never used the Bilt Hamber one as the AM Details one is so good with hardly any marring, don’t think I’ll try it in the future either following your endorsementSwervin_Mervin wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 9:30 pmI had a Bilt Hamber bar that you could use with just water. I thought you could use all clay with just water?
I tend to use water with a tiny smidge of car shampoo in it for lubricationification.

As the pandemic means I now have a job I have to commute to, the Boxster is feeling like less of a good buy as an everyday car. Contemplating a Volvo v60 or even another x-type to eat up the motorway miles.
Re: Your fleet running reports
I was alerted to this earlier today as it apparently isn’t selling. Sort out the awful roof crap and I could live with that as a cool & quirky mile muncher.

They're nice. But roof definitely needs sorting. A contractor at a previous customer had one and his only complaint was that the wheels buckled easily. He'd had his straightened several times as potholes took their toll.mik wrote: Wed May 06, 2020 9:49 am I was alerted to this earlier today as it apparently isn’t selling. I get the feeling he’s the kind of guy that would phone you every week to ask how “his” car is doing. And there’d be semen in the rear silencer.

Nutter issues aside, I have to agree with all - sort the roof and it’s cool!

BMW and Merc drivers obviously have a bit of taste...

Why is the interior of the boot better trimmed than the bit you sit in?mik wrote: Wed May 06, 2020 9:49 am I was alerted to this earlier today as it apparently isn’t selling. Sort out the awful roof crap and I could live with that as a cool & quirky mile muncher.

"half of them are now registered off the road in some ones collection"
Yes, a collection of other scrap in a breaker's yard.
"Numberplate stays with the car and is valued at £1000."
Inexplicably worth 4x all the other R8 XXX plates on the DVLA website https://dvlaregistrations.dvla.gov.uk/s ... r_priceto=
