And? Are you a big fan of world poverty?

It is a fair point, the world in which we live, people die because of no clean water or no food whilst others can reach down the back of the proverbial sofa and spunk 300 MILLION Euros to rebuild a church owned by teh state and leased to one of the richest organisations in the world.

The outpouring of bandwagon grief over an old church from predominantly no religious people is far more galling than wanting to live in a fairer world nes pas?
Far more gauling? 😉
Puntastic!

The "story" underneath it is even better!
I thought the Mash was supposed to be a satirical site?
Like Jonathan Pie, innit - sometimes satire is indistinguishable from reality!

Well, a corporate body made up of syndicates of underwriters but yes, Richard has probably got the point by now
Lloyds of London is a marketplace where insurers transact business but is not itself an insurer. Richard also seems not to be aware of insurance in layers, nor reinsurance. I don't suppose this is the time nor place to explain how insurance actually works though.

Turns out it was Jesus wot did it:

Lesley Rowan, from Alexandria in West Dunbartonshire, believes she can see the silhouette of the son of God in one of the pictures of the blaze taking hold of the cathedral. "When I looked at this photo last night, I was really astounded by what I saw. When I look at it I see a silhouette of Jesus. I really see a vivid image. I shared it and asked for people's opinions - even my brother in Australia said it looks like Jesus. I feel like it will bring comfort to people in Paris and all over the world at this sad time."

If even the Australians think so then that's good enough for me

Do you think these people spend too much time doing those puzzles where you have to de-focus your eyes and now everything is just blurry for them...

They must spend a lot of time trying to distinguish objects and faces out of clouds as they’re so fucking bored down there.

It’s amazing what the “faithful” tend to see

The whole of Ireland went doolally over “Moving Statues” back in the 80’s

Even the Left Leggers we’re coming down from the North to check it out.

I only said 'maybe God did it as punishment for fucking all those kids'

A tad harsh perhaps, but there's no denying they do/did fuck a lot of kids and got away with it.
Cheers.

I'd like to see donations be spent on contraception.

It will be a lot more beneficial to the world than a new roof and it would piss off the church something terrible
