I had a '96 1.0 Dimension as my first car and loved it. Always wanted a GT, but time and standards moved on fairly quicklyGavin wrote: Fri Mar 15, 2019 1:17 pm 1989 AX GT. Cracking car, weighed about the same as a shoe box and probably similar crash protection. Fitted a Kenwood tapedeck that if you pressed a button the backlight changed from green to orange. Only £100 extra for that feature.![]()
Also some kenwood 6x9s in the shelf. Wish I had kept it, they are worth decent money now.

Yeah, a couple of my mates got Saxos because of the free insurance. Blue of course.scotta wrote: Fri Mar 15, 2019 12:04 am I bought a brand new Saxo VTR when I was that age it came with 2 years “Free” insurance. Which replaced my 1.6 Zetec Escort. It was a nice metallic blue colour with graphite grey and RS 5 spokes. Looked great. Was mechanicaly fucked.

I love R19 16V. Such a cool carRich B wrote: Thu Mar 14, 2019 11:22 pmNope, I know the exact colour/wheels you mean though. Mine was a black phase 1 with turbine type wheels (and yellow fog lights!)
Like this but black and with less Nigel Mansells.

You drive an Elise (as in you’re a purist) so spoiler

Re: Another new forum car
Spoiler. Cos you are a tart as opposed to a purist.
Re: Another new forum car
Phase 1 R19 16v was a handsome car.
When I first passed my test I had a '78 Mini 998cc in brown.
I fitted wider 10" steels with 165 tyres and a smaller steering wheel. At the same time I was on the insurence for my Dad's Granada 2.8i Ghia (with RS bodykit!) and my Mum's Astra Cab (Mk3, 2.0l).
I have very fond memories of the Mini, 2 mates also had 998cc ones so it was often wacky races going from one place to another.

Had the ABS and no spoiler
The free insurance was a big attraction!
