Another new forum car

Post by Jobbo »

If Harry can justify posting about his stepdaughter’s Lupo and Polo I’m sure I can add the car I’ve just helped my stepson buy.

It’s a Nissan Juke, one owner plus Nissan. Acenta spec diesel with Premium Pack which means nav, tints, reversing camera etc. They seem to be popular; it’s the third we tried to buy today and the first which hadn’t already had a deposit put down. But it has 20-30k miles less than those (both of which were boring white) and it was only £250 more despite being 18mths newer. I rather like it.

He’s not quite 20, for context. He’s not into cars but this is more interesting than my suggestion of a Hyundai i30.

It’s actually quite good. I’d always written off the Juke as just a jacked-up supermini but it’s more spacious than expected, feels solid and really nice to drive. It feels like a bigger car than it is. I can see why they’ve sold well.

I think you mean you still have your first car, unless that Defender isn't actually yours.

Series 3 land Rover.

Jukes seem to be one of the go to cars for bad drivers.

As I turned 20, I was part way through building a Mk1 Escort. Lime green with bubble arches 8-)

I stuffed it into a tree four months later

They were still just old bangers back then, IIRC I got £50 for the scrap and that seemed like a good deal !

Rich:

“the somewhat surprising star in terms of drivability is the 1.5-litre diesel”

Not my words; the words of Evo magazine.

The fact that they reviewed a 1.5 litre diesel Nissan goes a long way to explaining why I cancelled my subs

I wonder if they’d like a reader-submitted review of hypermiling on the NC500 😄
