I have a very similar pair of goretex Salmon walking shoes - I’m now all the way through the grips at the front, so will need to replace soon.
Edit :
these ones in fact
So as noted earlier in this thread - I had these re-soled a couple of months back now. £45.
It's taken me this long to get over my absolute anger/frustration, and provide an update.....
To set the scene - original tread on the Salomon's
The cobbler had told me he'd need to see them to assess resole-ability, and since mrs mik was passing him - I asked her to drop them in. Vibram soles please - same kinda grips as are already on there.
I knew that Vibram make some funky "Zegama" soles, so I was expecting something like these to be fitted. I'd shown mrs mik an image of these. Yep. Got it.
What was
actually fitted however was a pair of "Jankaut" soles, which look like they are for some kind of fucking commando boot or something. WTF?
I initially blamed the cobbler for being a stupid thick muthafunkin cvnt.
Then I wondered if maybe mrs mik hadn't been clear enough when she handed them in?
And then I came to the realisation that
I hadn't been clear enough with either of them. In my head I thought
everyone - particularly a fucking professional cobbler - would see the original soles and think "yeah if he wants Vibram soles, then this Zegama design is the
obvious replacement design", but I didn't explicitly
ask for the Zegama soles...... so I got someone else's interpretation of "same kinda grips as already on there". Hence ultimately - I'm the stupid thick cvnt.

If you want something specific, make sure you relay this fucking specificity mik.
After a few days of sulking, I finally started using them, and..... they are
functionally better than ever. More grip on wet or dry stone. More grip on grass and muddy tracks.
So I've finally quit my whining and decided it's not a bad outcome at all for my favourite dog-walking shoes......
