It's definitely lowest common denominator stuff. Mike, I don't know if you ever go round the Worcester bypass towards Malvern but there seem to be regular serious crashes at the Ketch roundabout these days. The roundabout itself is a 40 limit and dual carriageway coming up to it is 60 from both sides, so the proposal is to drop the dual carriageways' speed limit to 40. That'll be fucking ridiculous; the accidents are happening due to poor sight lines and bad layout so they need to address that rather than slowing everyone down. You can bet it'll be enforced heavily too. I might start going through the centre of Worcester again to cross the riverMikeHunt wrote: Mon Sep 08, 2025 4:30 pmI have a view on this, probably shared with everyone else on the forum.Ascender wrote: Mon Sep 08, 2025 12:08 pm It was a bit surreal though when the talk from the polis at the time was basically you're not doing anything dangerous, nothing wrong with your driving... but we have to prosecute you. Not sure what that achieves.

I’ve been busted by a mobile rozzer camera for doing 28 in a 20. Goddamn it, hoping for speed awareness course, I only just got back to 0 points last year.

You monsta! The 20mph bollox is rather frustrating, isn’t it?
I’m in Oxfordshire now and the 20mph through villages actually makes sense and I’m happy doing it, but the nonsense in London is ridiculous

It really is crazy in London, this was a two lane dual carriageway with a central reservation. Admittedly residential too, but nonetheless, it’s verrrry easy to creep above 22 without thinking.
Re: I feel a NIP in the air...
Used to be limit+10%+9mph for an awareness course so at 28 you should be good. It is at force discretion though rather than a hard and fast ruleGavster wrote: Fri Aug 28, 2026 8:15 pm I’ve been busted by a mobile rozzer camera for doing 28 in a 20.
