Your fleet running reports
Re: Your fleet running reports
Looking at John’s original plate the space between the 1 and the C is more than the required 33mm though. Presumably the person who made it used a template for a full width numeral.

It’s all about proportions and how they fit the car, cutting to the minimum doesn’t always work as well as leaving a little excess.
My ‘sud had a modern plate on the front when I bought it. I fitted one in the bigger age correct font but didn’t really like it.
I trimmed down the one with the smaller modern font which looked better given that it’s quite a small car.

He's waiting for the fury of excitement to dissipate from me dropping the £1500 Mini Cooper S purchase thread.

R5 update: still with the dealership waiting for the air-con to be fixed. Parts were due by yesterday and we were told we'd be able to collect it tomorrow. Update today is the wrong parts have arrived so they've had to order again from France.
Since it's been with the dealership for 5 weeks this is somewhat frustrating. I am seriously considering formally rejecting it; if the parts take another 5 weeks to arrive (and there's a risk they're still wrong) then that will be 10 weeks we won't have had the car. There's no estimated date at all at the moment. We could order a new one and have it quicker than this. Fucking ridiculous.
Remind me why I swore off French cars?

Well now you've got FECPOTY wrapped up I'm not sure I'm going to bother announcing it at all. Pending RichB intervention, obvs.

Plus I have already said it's an Evora earlier on in the thread.

Good performance from the 118d on the drive home from work today.

Decent!
I always found wth my Golf it was significantly more economical in hot weather conditions. Low 50s when it was very cold, high 60s when hot.

Re: Your fleet running reports
I've probably not been paying attention to small-ish TDs lately (like, really lately) but that seems pretty good given the 1-series isn't a very small small car.
How's it like performance wise? Frustrating, or acceptable enough?

Re: Your fleet running reports
700 miles late but went over 10000 miles in the M3.. and did my first LC on a nearby closed runway - think the button pressing took longer than the 0-100mph time! Tbf, that was due my inexperience and not really anything BMW had done.
I’ve been pushing it more and more recently and it juts grips and goes.. turned off TC (ish it has like 10+ possible levels) and the 4 wheel drift I did was far too easy and controllable - just need more closed airfields
Looking to get my daughter her first car, current thinking is new Twingo (if released in time), VW UP or Polo or convertible Beetle, or a Mini of some description - any experience with any of them would be appreciated…

I know a load of people who had polos as their first car and they’re apparently reasonably cheap to insure

If you're considering new cars how about the new Panda?
