Under a hard braking event due to a blind people carrier driver, the Clio had 6 duck eggs launch into the footwell.

I held onto them along as I could but at the last minute needed 2 hands on the wheel due to bad road maintenance.

Sadly, 2 eggs didn't make it and the floor mat will need a good scrub.

Who do I contact for a proper and correct financial solution to this ?

R5 air con stopped working nearly 2 weeks ago in the previous heatwave. Finally went in today and it’ll be about 3 weeks to be repaired - condenser and pipework coming from France. It’s 14 months old and has 13k miles on it so it’s a bit disappointing; it’s under warranty because there is no damage from stones or whatever.

That’s frustrating isn’t it. Does it have to share work cooling batteries or other duties given it is electric?

M3 - MOT passed last week, no advisories. But they reckon the emissions are quite high? Not sure why, it had a new airfilter and oil change over winter and I run it on SUL. 1400 miles between MOTs, so pretty low amount of miles.

Airconditioning was also regassed a few weeks ago and is pushing wonderfully chilled air into the cabin again.

968 - a fellow 968 owner who I've known for years happens to have a spare bitsa exhaust, so hopefully we can fit it this Sunday. Feels like it's taken too long to get it sorted, but then I doubt I'd be driving it much during these heatwaves.

Had a horrible feeling that I'd missed the cars MOT by a huge amount this morning. Turns out I did in February, I jus forgor

Pinged the local specialist anyway as the passenger side window regulator has done what all BMW window regulators do, and carked it - and oof they ain't cheap if you avoid cheap chinese tat that'll fail in a year, so that'll be the thick end of £500 out of my pocket to sort that, all in.

Still, if the window doesn't work, how am I supposed to blast acapella versions of songs from Muses Black Holes and Revelations album out of the car, to enhance and enlighten the locals with pure art? So it has to be done.

ClubSport was an A/C delete wasn't it? The recent heatwaves have bumped the non-functioning A/C to the top of the 928 To Do List. Even in winter sun the cabin gets surprisingly warm due to the large glass area. I don't think it's actually been converted to run on R134, so it'll need new receiver/dryer, some fittings, nitrile o-rings and some Ester oil for the compressor as well as the R134. knowing my luck, the compressor will be shagged or some hideously expensive pipe will need replacing as well.

Get one of them, use a 12v plug and a couple of wood screws to attach it to the dash. Jobs done!

From the talk about it on the 968uk forum, it might be that A/C was rarely specified option on the 968 irrespective of being a CS or Sport. Maybe if people were buying them back in the 90s in the Mediterranean it would be a more common option. 968s were obviously a bit poverty spec compared to the flagship 928!

But yes, the large glass area in the 968 turns it into a pretty effective greenhouse when the sun is beating down on the all-black interior!

I would have thought it would have been pretty much standard fit (aside from the ClubSport).

Even though my car is white, the glass area means I'd have to be suicidal to try and drive it in this heat without A/C. Next year's European trip is mooted to be the South of France so I definitely need it sorting for then
