New Esprit

Question is, how many people will pay £150k for a Lotus compared to the competition? Because that's what it's likely to be, given the Emira is £100k now.

Interesting. Will be good to see (although given how much the competition charges for the power levels that are being mentioned, I think even £150k may be optimistic. :?: Noble ask £150k for their non-hybrid 550bhp M500, which doesn't even have ABS.....

Flat-plane V8 probably more desirable/appropriate in the supercar market, but cross-plane would have been a great aural differentiator from McLaren/Ferrari. I realise I may be in the minority on that point.

edit: top marks for going with Tippex though :geek:

Which is exactly 1000PS funnily enough - so just a guess then.

AMG V8, given the recent links I wonder?

The £150k was a guess, based on previous rumours they were making a V8 Emira and wondered if those I'll just end up being a reskinned version with a bigger engine.

Gotta wonder where the market will be if you start coming in well over £200k though. At that point, you're swimming with the big boys, and cars with wobbly trim and bubbly doors won't cut it.

Cant we get an Alpine A110 competitor instead?

Only the rear image is accurate. The front is an Autocar render.

Oh. I will then caveat my statement to that effect. The imagined design looks good.

Weird that they'd do that. The evo article shows a similar-but-different front image too

Might as well get it straight from the horse's mouth

Scroll down a bit but clicking 'explore' doesn't open anything new for me.
Looks reassuringly expensive, carbon fibre chassis/body, carbon brakes. That's £250k+

FTA "No price has been revealed, but Feng singled out the 849 Testarossa as its main rival, suggesting a figure close to the Ferrari’s entry price of £407,617."

It could be the most beautiful, most dynamically pleasing and most well built Lotus of all time and I have every confidence in the management at Hethel snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Again, again, again.

£400k? I mean, their Evija was a massive success so I'm expecting people will be queueing out the door for a £400k Lotus, given how brilliantly they handled the Emira release as well, with barely any quality control issues and exemplary PR and communcations with customers.
