I guess you have to drive it to appreciate it. Peter Stevens' point about the noise and theatre of the thing is what drives a modern Insta reels culture rather than necessarily the build quality.
To be fair it is a pre production prototype.

I think the pics in Peter Stevens Instagram post showing shonky panel gaps are from a customer's car though?

Taking a drill to the Countach was a bit of a moment.

Still looks worse with the wing on.

Despite the drilling - I think this is the worst video harry has ever done. Man fits wheels to a car. Man refits spoiler again.

I forgot to mention the brake clearance on the Project 7 front wheels. That didn't look as much as 3mm when he rotated the wheel but even so, they're big wheels; how much does everything deflect under heavy load?

Haven’t seen the video but I vaguely remember him taking off the wing years ago and fitting bungs to cover the holes. Did he get it filled and painted only to drill them out again?
How about not having a sig at all?

Yep.

Which surprised me, as something in my memory suggested he had two rear hatches - one with oles and one without oles. Maybe it was just an idea he had that he never followed up on? :?

Which car was the write off - was that the Countach or the Testarossa? I guess if it was a category car in any event then drilling some holes in it doesn't really matter too much.

From a design point of view the LP400/Periscopio is the definitive Countach (all later variants are derivative and ultimately obscure Gandini's original design (e.g. the wheel arch extensions that lessen the effect of the signature Gandini arch shape)) so I'm in the "without wing" camp as well.

It's the Testarossa which was an insurance write-off before he bought it. I'd forgotten that completely until you mentioned it.

I was interested to see how the lambo wing was constructed, but lord that was a tedious drawn out process!

Not sure it really needed quite so many fixings either, there are probably only 4 bolts holding the boot lid to the hinges

I think lambos with the arches look better with the wing, but my favourite versions are early non-arch, no wing ones. Still really don’t like the gold wheels on it, I don’t know why, maybe it looks better in the flesh, I thought it looked great in the little moving clip at the end.
Cheers, Harry
