I've seen some nice Seiko designs lately, they seem to be on form.

True, though the price increases have tempered my enthusiasm a bit.

Sharing strap info. I ordered one of these the other day for my Alpina. Built-in quick-release spring bars, nicely sealed edges on the thick single layer leather, well-finished chunky buckle. Feels like exceptional value for less than £20.

This week I'm mostly liking the Ming 37.09 Uni. I like that it's not another traditional divers watch, it's definitely its own thing. Clever use of Sapphire to give a floating effect and cool loom.

I like that a lot. Very cool and different.

Although I think they've failed. They mention that the watch's namesake can be found as deep as 6000 metres, yet they've only designed it to withstand pressure down to 600 metres. So you can't go deep sea fishing for sea urchins wearing the watch named after them.

38mm diameter with 20mm lug width - that’s a small hand/wrist model they’ve used in the promo pics!

Curved spring bars (and possibly not straight aligned locating holes in the lugs) could cause strap issues (edge case, but worth considering IMO)

The eldest is liking watches, and covets a "US Polo Association" submariner knock-off at our local TK Maxx. Never heard of the brand and it looks a little rough in pictures (with a supposed RRP of £250ish). They list it for £54.

Anyone know it or can recommend a better option in the same price range (£60 tops)? He's spending his own money, so I'm using it to teach caution.

I’ve ordered from them a couple of times. Decent quality product (although mine have been >£100) and service (I had an issue with the clasp on one and they sent me a replacement in the week).

Cheers. The internals are of no consequence to him, he likes the look. I'll have a look, the Invicta doesn't look bad. I've got some of their watches, but the cheaper stuff was quite cheap in feel and look, but that one looks better.

It's a bit more money c£180 but the best Submariner homage I've come across is the Cronos

Over the last few years I've bought loads of watches from AliExpress and Watch Dives and this is one of the best

I have the no date version in black and it's one of my favourite watches

Well worth the money
