Not yet - just enjoying the crisp new look
I should also have been clear - I didn’t do this myself - got the pros at ThreeBros to do it properly.
When I had a karoq (same car in drag) they had a recall to update the software so the hold disengaged when you lifted the clutch and applied throttle instead of just lifted clutch. I had a few times where you release the slightest bit of pressure on the clutch without realising and the car started to roll so the update made sense. The ford version doesn’t need throttle but the clutch has to go up higher so it’s an actual conscious movement rather than an accidental releaseGavster wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 2:40 pmHave manual and automatic handrake/hill hold etc on the Ateca and I absolutely love it. The handbrake engages whenever the brake pedal is pressed and the car reaches a standstill and it disengages the moment there's a hint of forward movement. It works brilliantly and intergrates seamlessly into my largely inner-city driving. It's also easy to turn off if you don't want it to be automatic for any reason. I can't see the point in going back to an old-school ratchet handbrake on a modern car.MikeHunt wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 2:53 pm Has anyone owned a manual with an automatic handbrake?
Im not sure Ive ever driven one, seems wrong but also the norm in modern cars amongst the very little choice of manuals.

Heel always be famous for doing that toe his car!
I found some photos from March 2015 when I was putting it on Autotrader. At some

Point in the last 10 years the wheels have been swapped out for a very similar style, but otherwise it was identical to how I sold it, including the E46 ZHP gear knob.

When i sold the X5 it was still connected to my BMW app.John wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 9:37 am I know exactly where my last car is as I accidently left an airtag in it![]()
I'd be impressed if it still wore R2CWS, which is on the X5 parked in front!scotta wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 9:31 amBASTARD *SHAKES FIST*mik wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 9:19 amYou're not fooling us - that's a different reggie numberJimexpl wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 6:37 am I found some photos from March 2015 when I was putting it on Autotrader. GDPR, same reason you can’t see who owned your car previously in logbooksJimexpl wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 10:58 pmI'd be impressed if it still wore R2CWS, which is on the X5 parked in front!
I still have the MT55WTN plates that I took off when doing the plate transfer.
You got me thinking about R2CWS -
I've had it since 2008, when I bought an £800 part exchange blue E36 323i that had worn it from new. After that it went on:
1999 E46 328i (blue)
2005 E91 325i Touring (in the photo)
2013 F30 335i (black)
2010 Jag XFR (black)
2018 Discovery Sport 240 (blue)
2008 X5 4.8iS (grey)
HPi checks used to show recent private plate history when you checked a car, but that seems to have disappeared over the years.
