Not yet - just enjoying the crisp new look 8-)

I should also have been clear - I didn’t do this myself - got the pros at ThreeBros to do it properly. :ugeek:

Im not sure Ive ever driven one, seems wrong but also the norm in modern cars amongst the very little choice of manuals.
Have manual and automatic handrake/hill hold etc on the Ateca and I absolutely love it. The handbrake engages whenever the brake pedal is pressed and the car reaches a standstill and it disengages the moment there's a hint of forward movement. It works brilliantly and intergrates seamlessly into my largely inner-city driving. It's also easy to turn off if you don't want it to be automatic for any reason. I can't see the point in going back to an old-school ratchet handbrake on a modern car.
When I had a karoq (same car in drag) they had a recall to update the software so the hold disengaged when you lifted the clutch and applied throttle instead of just lifted clutch. I had a few times where you release the slightest bit of pressure on the clutch without realising and the car started to roll so the update made sense. The ford version doesn’t need throttle but the clutch has to go up higher so it’s an actual conscious movement rather than an accidental release

So I didn't mention that the exterior door handle on the drivers side failed whilst it was having the PPF done. It's been feeling pretty crunchy / inconsistent for some time, and I'd just ignored it.

Took the door card off, and the handle has "peeled apart" where the actuator rod goes into it. :?

New handles are actually cheap, but you do then need to get them painted of course. The internet however advised that the same handle is used on both driver and passenger side. Each handle has two arms, but only the rearmost arm takes the actuator rod.

The happy outcome of this is that I was able to therefore swap driver and passenger handles, which allowed both sides to present a "fresh" arm to the actuator rod.

I've seen images of Evora handles failing similarly on other cars however, so I mused over ways to add a little strength without compromising their movement > eventually opting to score the inner faces for purchase, and then fell the "voids" in the handles with hot-melt glue. If it does no good, it'll do no harm.....

Looks like lots of options to glue, pin, wire etc could be an opportunity to surpass the pedal box photo?

Not my current fleet, but I parked behind Tate Modern today to pick up my daughter and when I returned to the car a 325 touring was parked behind, which was my wife’s car 2012-5, and I think we sold it on Autotrader to someone in Somerset.

What are the chances of that?!

I found some photos from March 2015 when I was putting it on Autotrader. At some
Point in the last 10 years the wheels have been swapped out for a very similar style, but otherwise it was identical to how I sold it, including the E46 ZHP gear knob.

My Civic that was stolen in 2011 disappeared for several years (probably run on a fake plate) then spotted it in my local shopping centre car park. Couldn’t hang around to find out what actually happened to it.

Anyway, today’s quick DIY was a pair of new gas struts for the boot of the i3. Almost as satisfying as new wipers.

My sons Cupra Leon PHEV has been bricked on the drive for 2 days as it discharged its 12v battery whilst AC charging the hybrid system. Can't open the doors, bonnet, boot and so on. Can get in using a key on drivers door but the bonnet release needs the passenger side door open to pull but its deadlocked!

A racing snake Seat Assist (AA) man came out today to climb in the boot through rear seats and remove an access panel to a battery or jump panel under boot floor. Dropped off to Seat for a software update which they said would take 6 weeks and its the 3rd car this week in with same fault.

Frustrating that you cant fix these cars with a man and some mole grips and only worse it will get!

The only one of my old cars I’ve come across was my old corsa, which left me looking like this

I'd be impressed if it still wore R2CWS, which is on the X5 parked in front!
I still have the MT55WTN plates that I took off when doing the plate transfer.

You got me thinking about R2CWS -
I've had it since 2008, when I bought an £800 part exchange blue E36 323i that had worn it from new. After that it went on:

1999 E46 328i (blue)
2005 E91 325i Touring (in the photo)
2013 F30 335i (black)
2010 Jag XFR (black)
2018 Discovery Sport 240 (blue)
2008 X5 4.8iS (grey)

HPi checks used to show recent private plate history when you checked a car, but that seems to have disappeared over the years.
