I've been reading Dilla Time recently, all about James Yancey (who later became known as J Dilla)

An incredibly influential hip-hip producer and sometimes rapper

I've been aware of and listening to his music, and music of people he worked with for years now, but it's been really nice to see the names again, and go back and dig out their music to re-listen

He really did work with an incredible group of people, and his influence on hip-hop and modern music in general goes way further...

Interesting concept, but somewhat flawed. I've got a handful of very strong Neodymium magnets that can be very useful, but I've pinched finger skin, or damaged myself fighting to remove them from something quite a number of times.

Did anyone see Fred Again at the weekend? I'd gone off him recently, felt like after the original hype at the start of the decade it fell off a bit. However, everything I'm seeing from hid live show at Alexandra Palace looks like he's managed to merge genres and generations of all kinds of artists. Really epic stuff, with The Streets, Underworld, JME, D Double E and a load more... it's all going so hard, especially JME over The Streets beat.

Always loved this track and the production (other than the vocals being rather too far out-front for my liking) Bass and drums sound great (and the bass line is funky)
