Teh Spotted Thread
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
There’s a customer of ours with a low spec mk1 clio on the drive, still has the dealers sticker in the back window, purchased from the site the company I work for now occupies (originally a Renault showroom, got knocked down and rebuilt into a Toyota showroom that closed and we moved in 20 odd years ago)
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I'd really like a mk1 Clio 1.4S with the white painted sporty steel wheels and green bumper trim etc. Except that I remember my first wife's Clio had the universal problem that the rear window seal leaked, and it's vanishingly unlikely that you'd find one which has been garaged all its life to avoid the ingress, so they will all almost certainly have a marsh and corrosion under the carpets.

Found it on street view, forgot about the twin spoilersjamcg wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 9:12 am There’s a customer of ours with a low spec mk1 clio on the drive, still has the dealers sticker in the back window, purchased from the site the company I work for now occupies (originally a Renault showroom, got knocked down and rebuilt into a Toyota showroom that closed and we moved in 20 odd years ago)
It lives outside permanently and doesn’t go anywhere so it’s probably all seized up and if it has the ex mrs. jobbo’s problem it’ll be soggy and rotten
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I believe all mk1 Clios suffered with the rear window seal not sealing so even looking at a Williams, check under the boot carpet and rear footwells.

There's a couple of nice ones on Car and Classic at the moment. But they're not cheap and the rattling after 150,000 miles may be epic.

I didn't know anyone with that issue. Neither car I had suffered any issues. The sunroofs were a disaster thoughJobbo wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 6:55 am I believe all mk1 Clios suffered with the rear window seal not sealing so even looking at a Williams, check under the boot carpet and rear footwells.

Nice Ph1 16v (the 2nd link). Very tidy but that shitty boot spoiler would have to gospeedingfine wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 9:02 am There's a couple of nice ones on Car and Classic at the moment. But they're not cheap and the rattling after 150,000 miles may be epic.

Looks like it belongs on a different, later car, like it’s been robbed from a SaxoSwervin_Mervin wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 8:56 pmNice Ph1 16v (the 2nd link). @scotta convinced me to go along to the Coffee meet at James Glen Cars in Airdrie (a few miles East of Glasgow).
Mind-bending turnout - practically the full industrial estate filled with a massive range of metal. Usual mix of CG's who are CG's like you, and other CG's who are not CG's like you.
Loads of interesting stuff there, but it's easier to borrow other people's images.
Somebody got papped. Image watermarked by pro photographer.

I hung around this for a while in the hope of getting some professional tippex tips, but the owner didn't return.

One for the G-SpotWagen fans (of which I am not a subset). 24". Appeared to be machined from billet. Looked gash.

One for @integrale_evo

This was the Clio with the "V6 00 YEH" plate. Noice.

Does he ever get the whole car in one photo? I assume splitting it across multiple photos is an Instagram thing.
That Celica appears to have GT-Four bonnet and front bumper but it won't have the mechanicals, I'd be fairly confident
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Alpine A290. Looked decent in grey. Should be a good buy in a few years.
Remember when "Rolling on 20's" used to be a brag?

The images aren't showing for me, but clearly for others. Annoying.

Are you at work? It's from the Facebook CDN, so might be blocked....DeskJockey wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 1:28 pm The images aren't showing for me, but clearly for others. Annoying.

Nope. But my PiHole blocks that stuff. I looked at the links and realised why.Matty wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 3:23 pmAre you at work? It's from the Facebook CDN, so might be blocked....DeskJockey wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 1:28 pm The images aren't showing for me, but clearly for others. Annoying.
