back on topic, i was surprised the first time i drove an elise how much it didn’t fit me. The bottom of the steering wheel was occupying all the space my knees wanted to have.
MY elise however is totally different matter, it has a boss that brings the steering wheel towards me and it absolutely transformed the whole fit of the car. it now fits like a glove!

Mine also had the extended boss. Makes a big difference. It's new owner is keeping it in the manner intended by doing hillclimb events with it.Rich B wrote: Tue Jul 01, 2025 2:29 pm back on topic, i was surprised the first time i drove an elise how much it didn’t fit me. The driver of the GT3 sat in my car the other week - he was pretty tall (maybe 6’4” ish?) and was surprised that he fitted because he hadn’t in previous elise based cars he’d tried. Again, the steering boss made the difference.

You've reminded me that I tried a few brand new Elises when I bought mine in 2001. In some, I couldn't reach the pedals because the seat didn't go as far forward. Quite bizarre.Rich B wrote: Tue Jul 01, 2025 2:29 pm back on topic, i was surprised the first time i drove an elise how much it didn’t fit me. Chris Harris is short and always likes to slam his seat to the floor, so he would annoy SJ.

There's only one steering boss in @Beany 's new car.Rich B wrote: Tue Jul 01, 2025 2:59 pm The driver of the GT3 sat in my car the other week - he was pretty tall (maybe 6’4” ish?) and was surprised that he fitted because he hadn’t in previous elise based cars he’d tried. Vid at the top of this post. *mwah*
Dished wheel helps me in the Fabia (err, not that it's moved for 3 months). Hand position is so your wrists meet the top of the wheel rim, with a slight bend in the elbow. Or imagine you're walking along lie a zombie.
