Damn you, I do like the look of these.mik wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 9:52 am
I do still have my £55 in-the-sale Onitsuka Tiger EDR78 in bright yellow which generally feel great, but I find the sole pattern allows them to wriggle slightly when I pivot onto my heal. To the point that I swapped back to a pair of worn New Balance trainers when I had the car at Anglesey...... maybe I just need to wear them down a bit more as other folks rave about them as the GOAT.

Re: Driving Shoes
I have wide feet, but deck shoes or Converse are better than those awful looking things!..
Cheers,

Re: Driving Shoes
A knackered old pair of Converse for me
Not found anything better
But speaking of this, I guess some of you must also have the "When I get there I'll want to wear X shoes, but I don't want to drive in them"
And I used to laugh at my Mum when she'd have a pair of shoes to drive in and one that she'd wear later...

Re: Driving Shoes
My speedcats have arrived. I should probably have put some trousers/shorts/a kilt/underpants on before taking a selfie, but.....
My speedcats are comfy.
My feet are happy.
I am happy.
I even went out to the garage and did some Senna Pedal Dancing whilst making brrrrrm noises. My speedcats are functioning correctly.
More news.
As it happens.
Right here on ov9.

Re: Driving Shoes
@mik Has Mrs Mik seen them yet?
Re: Driving Shoes
No. But my eldest saw them and burst out laughing.

Re: Driving Shoes
So apparently these are some of my better looking / trendier trainers. So that's just the opposite insult then.

Re: Driving Shoes
Update - I can confirm that barefoot-type shoes (thinner, more flexible soles and uppers, basically) are good for driving in.Beany wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 1:45 pm Boatshoes are nothing, I'm being bullied by my swedish chum into barefoot shoes, she swears by them.
(basically very flexible upper, and thin lower sole - yer freets, and all that)
So if you have a pretty lady bully you into buying barefoot shoes, then that's one thing not to worry about.

Re: Driving Shoes
Mine turned up today - £30 from vinted, brand new never worn.

Puma drift Cats with BMW motorsport branding!
They’re definitely not going to be worn anywhere but sat in my car, but they are pretty comfortable and a good 10-15mm thinner across the ball of the foot than pair of air max - which is where the issue is in the tiny pedal box on the elise.

Re: Driving Shoes
i can confirm, skinnier shoes did the trick - no accidental pressing two pedals. Though in the heat, i think my feet expanded a size because they were fucking tight by the end of the day.
Re: Driving Shoes
I have a pair of blue Camper trainers that are very comfy. I wore them in the Evora once however. Only once.
Nearly killed myself. Lower image shows how much the sole splays out....

This is a good combo for this weekend

Re: Driving Shoes
Those who have to have "designer" logos on every item of clothing will gobble them up, despite the price (or more likely because of the price). Reminds me of their silver jubilee clip bangle ( this one )Rich B wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 7:58 pm Good news, you can buy fucked up ones for £520!!
