Re: Snacks
Ah, well I didn't manage to buy the first release from the one corner shop in Worcester which sold them but did find them in Tesco in Stourbridge on Monday this week. Try Tesco - Stourbridge isn't (quite) in Worcestershire so I had assumed they were more widely available.
Re: Snacks
I love them. Like Frazzles with substance. Don't see them often, sometimes in pubs.ShockDiamonds wrote: Fri Apr 11, 2025 9:55 am Local corner shop sell Smiths Bacon Fries. Which I’ve always had a fondness of…
I do occasionally buy US snacks like Flamin' Hot Cheetos; can't beat turning your fingers red with whatever E-numbers they contain. I was disappointed at the lack of unusual choices when I was in Malta a few months ago though.
Re: Snacks
If you've got a B&M near you then head inside - they nearly always do the 6 packs (3 bacon fries, 3 scampi fries) for about £1 or £1.50. We normally stock up with 3 or 4 multipacks when we're there and stick them at the back of the cupboard.Jobbo wrote: Fri Apr 11, 2025 11:55 amI love them. Like Frazzles with substance. I will have to go and look, but I can't stand Scampi Fries. I think the scampi and lemon Nik-naks have been dropped at last. They had better offer just Bacon Fries in multi-packs!Simon wrote: Fri Apr 11, 2025 1:29 pm If you've got a B&M near you then head inside - they nearly always do the 6 packs (3 bacon fries, 3 scampi fries) for about £1 or £1.50. I've liked dark chocolate for quite a while now too, 70-80% being my preference. Though the price is starting to put me off some of the more premium versions. A jump of 33% in my favourite dark chocolate means I'm pausing buying that, until the price goes down again
Otherwise, I regularly buy unsalted cashews and pistachios
Oui, je suis un motard.

Never seen just bacon fries in a multipack. Maybe your wife or stepson will take the Scampi ones?Jobbo wrote: Fri Apr 11, 2025 3:11 pmI will have to go and look, but I can't stand Scampi Fries. My local Nisa still has Scampi and lemon Nik-naks.

Looks like you can buy multipacks in Sainsbury's and Tesco. How have I missed this? Seems to have Lea & Perrins branding on it, I hope they haven't made them posher and therefore less good!Jobbo wrote: Fri Apr 11, 2025 11:53 amAh, well I didn't manage to buy the first release from the one corner shop in Worcester which sold them but did find them in Tesco in Stourbridge on Monday this week. I do intersperse the salted nuts with mixed nut bags but they get boring quick, and I seem to have a salt craving half the time.
We get free fruit at work too, I should have mentioned that.

Re: Snacks
Same shop also sells the Scampi Fries. Spar in Minster Lovell if anybody is local and desperate. Bought a packet recently, consumed them in the car. This was the Friday. Wife got in the car the following Monday and immediately goes “You’ve been at the Scampis again haven’t you…”
Re: Snacks
I started on the Scampi fries 40 years ago (yes, I can date that as it was my Granny who introduced me to them and it was in her Worthing house). Bacon fries are a much more recent thing for me. The Scampi fries are the OG.

Re: Snacks
Currently Sainsbury's cheesy nachos. Mini coconut Macaroons. Hazelnut & Cocoa wafer rolls. Cadbury's dairy chocolate - plain milk. Salted and roasted peanuts. Salted and roasted cashews. Toffolossus biscuits to go with my tea. An apple because a balanced diet is important.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Snacks
Am I mad, or was there a 'scampi fry' type pub snack with a cheese filling?
Anyone remember?

Re: Snacks
Bought some this week whilst down at the folks. Can confirm that imo they're improved. Spicier and less sweet.duncs500 wrote: Fri Apr 11, 2025 4:23 pmLooks like you can buy multipacks in Sainsbury's and Tesco. How have I missed this? However, to pick up on your earlier post - Piper's Jalapeno & Dill are ridiculously good. Possibly my favourite crisp.
And on the sweet side of snacking, we recently got through a multipack of Kvikk Lunsj - Norwegian KitKat but 1007% better.
Re: Snacks
I have to go and look for those now. You’d think Tesco in Worcester would have some.
Cheese Moments were lovely. Haven’t seen them for years.
Forgot about the sweeter snacks I’ve been enjoying. I’m not starting to notice the sour milk, almost vomity, flavour in Mondelez’s ‘we haven’t changed it, honest’ Cadbury chocolate because I’ve had quite a few Aussie Cadbury varieties. They taste much nicer. But particular favourite is another hard to find chocolate: Lindt Tiramisu flavour balls. I’m not even a coffee lover but they are divine.
Re: Snacks
I normally grab 2 or 3 packs on the way through every trip as the kids love them, gold standard of chocolate biscuit snack.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Sat Apr 12, 2025 12:00 amBought some this week whilst down at the folks. Even better than the Tim Tam.
