Just send your autopilot in your place. This is what @IanF does.

quick query - my brother is coming along too, do you think it is sensible for him to come in his own car to the track or with me? i don’t think we’ll have masses of kit or anything, but worth having a second car to drive/tow home/head out to get stuff in if the elise breaks?

Oh ye of little faith :D

There's space to park up out of the way, but Walshy has space to store stuff in his van if you want to dump anything out of the Elise. Don't see any reason to take two cars, save the money for the shit overpriced coffee they serve ;)

Looking cold but nice and sunny tomorrow. 8-) I would've quite liked to wash the car in advance but it's too bloody cold today.

i expect large areas of dirt missed (though it is hilariously small to wash!)

I used to love washing my Elise. I needed to wash my MX5 this weekend but I took it for a drive, then didn't wash it when I got back

Great day today, weather couldn't have been much better, I even caught the sun a bit. Loads of fun as usual, great to meet you and your brother @Rich B, your car was great, sounded excellent.

We had 9 cars today, which was a really great balance for me.

Yeah, it was a really good day out - brilliantly run, the weather was awesome and as daft as it sounds, i now fully understand the appeal of Elises! Mine is crap at “normal” driving, but felt incredible on track with full commitment.

Your car is a stunning in the flesh as in pictures (and bloody quick!) and it was good to have a friendly face there (though the whole group were decent guys/girls).

I’m 100% up for more!

it’s right there - just in front the wheel inside the bumper!

Yeah, it looks like the LED aftermarket light is/was held on with some sort of glue between the metal bracket and the fibre glass body. the metal bracket has rusted and the glue let go.

I got it out when i got home, it’s ok, but i’ll see if i can get a new bracket and clean up the inside/refix it. I’ve just been searching the trolley jack thread - as i’ll need to get the front wheel and arch liner out of the way.

Same as these - the black U shaped bracket has corroded away.

If that bracket has rusted away, I don't wanna know what the wishbones look like!

Sounds like you all had a good day, weather was indeed very nice today 👍

The silver one was a 410 (and i think the orange one was a 400). They were both absolute monsters!

the whole line up was:

evora 400
evora 410
Elise S1 K x2
Elise S1 honda x2
Audi TT
Porsche Boxster
GT86 (driven sideways the whole day)

a few group shots - someone kept parking a rusty old grey elise in front though! 😀

One of the guys on The Lotus Forum who picked up a 118bhp Elise S1 last year, having previously owned a Macca 570S and an Exige 430Cup just posted a comment that made me grin and nod. :geek:
8-)

“From my experience of vehicles with much more power, you just end up at the end of an enjoyable road faster than you had hoped and spend a lot of time looking down at the speedo thinking “oh shit, I better back off”!

For that reason, I’m not really after a power increase, just want to magnify all the ways the car connects with my senses”

Amen. And it’s what Joe Public and even a chunk of people that claim to be CG’s just don’t get.

I had a good chat with the guy with the silver 410 (he also has an S1), he's put some sort of Komotec kit on it which makes a useful bit of extra powah apparently. He seems very happy with it, really lovely car. Didn't get a chance to look at the orange one, but from taking to the owner I think that has more power too.
