yep, i saw it was the car that was booked not the driver, im happy for him to have a play too!

Well the guy there last year was on his second one in his Emira after damaging some kind of bodywork/bumper the previous time! I seem to remember whatever he hit was a looong way from the course though, it was hard to understand how he managed it.

There's always the cones too, probably wouldn't damage a clam, but paint scuff possible.

Unlikely though. The only time I grimaced was on the first lap round the timed circuit I missed the breaking point for the hairpin by quite a way (too busy basking in being flat out WOT for the longest time) and there's a metal barrier straight on, but there's so much run off that I was still miles away from it, just a crap apex. I think that hairpin was my weakest corner generally, couldn't seem to hit a consistently good breaking point.

I think Andy said the only time he's seen any damage was someone in an Evo who managed to skip over two grassed areas and a runway to hit a concrete wall, but still to this day is unsure how he managed it unless his throttle was stuck open! But yes, a cone may scuff but more than likely just bounce off.

Re: the hairpin....I found TC off and a bootful of throttle was the stylish way to do it. Not the quickest, mind!

My situation is fairly...fluid at the moment, but if I can get my ducks in a line I might be able to get it booked. Alternatively I'll just have to do in the Up :lol:

Still three spots left on the 18th, they'd happily take whoever, no need for a Lotus. Anyone keen?

HaHa, excuses in early! I'm not very fast, I always just try to concentrate on improving each lap. One of the people coming was miles ahead of me last time, so I'm dropping down the leaderboard before we've even started! :cry:

Id forgotten about this, it's not on the website, is there a hidden link?

Is it more of an open track day as opposed to instructor led and if so is my barge going to look a bit Lisa Riley?

Shame I can't make this, but don't forget to remember your sprint time at the end! Would be interested to know what it was

Driving excuse - my was in torrential, biblical levels of rain that even Elise owners avoided, so expecting sub 1min times.

@MikeHunt

It's not really a track / trackday. It's a big bit of asphalt with some road offshoots.

I'm lost with what you've got now, still the 550? There's usually a few bigger cars on it, last one someone was there in a model Y. I wouldn't worry about that.

Yes, I only have the 550, not a track day car by any measure.

I had washy. on my list for some tuition, or to put it another way, a safe place to push the car bit as I genuinely have no idea what its really capable of and its the first none red car Ive owned that Im probably only using 6 tenths.

Well it's definitely that place, come along on the 18th, nothing stopping you signing up for another 4 car day or something later for more in depth tuition. This is a cheap-ish way for you to see what it's all about.
