My folks had a Princess, and later an Ambassador. The latter was still around after I passed my test, so I had the misfortune of driving it way more than I would have liked.John wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 9:40 amWhen I was young a friend's dad had a Princess and it was the most luxurious car that I had ever travelled in. I think the ribs used to go the opposite way on the side panels.
Happy memories sitting on the fold down arm rest in the back of that
Brilliant interior, absolutely love it. All the seperate parts of the seat make it work, if it was a less complicated seat then it wouldn’t.

Massive inside compared to the competition, with the super-long-travel hydro suspension giving a fabulous ride (in theory at least, and at times - it did). Flipside was horrific body control - damping was super-soft, massively over-servoed brakes, ridiculously over-servoed steering with practically zero feedback, awful gear shift full of rubber, and ours (1.7l delivering just 83bhp) was gutless whilst still barely able to deliver 30mpg.
