Harris can fucking have it. That is awful. I like non-leather and I like interesting. But it clashes badly with the exterior colour and just looks really horribly textured.

Whoah, spicy Jobbo is correct. I'm just imagining how that feels and it makes my teeth itch just thinking about it.

It looks like a more nylon version of an SD1 Rover interior.

It looks awful with the exterior. i think i’d like it on a dark grey car though.

it is very similar to my mums old Morris Ital interior though… which was basically the exact same spec/colour as this one:

Do you have fond memories of that interior, Rich? My mother had a Beetle with grey textured vinyl seats and I don’t think I’d put them in an M5 😄

My Grandpa had a brown Austin Princess with that colour interior. I think the ribs used to go the opposite way on the side panels.

Happy memories sitting on the fold down arm rest in the back of that 😎

Brilliant interior, absolutely love it. All the seperate parts of the seat make it work, if it was a less complicated seat then it wouldn’t.

Yes unfortunately not a fan of that either.

I think black or cream / ivory are the only colours that would go with the burgundy exterior (or the "colour of a vet's forearm" as Clarkson memorably called it).

Maybe it's just shitty low res Insta not showing it, but corduroy has ridges in it, that just looks like velour to me.

WTH was he thinking?!

I was expecting something retro but along the lines of the Porsche heritage stuff or old M cars, but sweet fancy Moses

Looking at the comments on the Instagram post, Chris Harris’s arsehole must be spotlessly clean from all the bum-licking.

This might have worked, but cream leather probably would still be better

I also don’t want to be one of ‘those’ people on the internet, but the company who arranged it towed it to / from the trimmers with an e61 535d which has (from what I can see) a towing capacity of 2T. An e61 M5 on its own weighs 1955kg.

Could have been an interesting conversation if something had happened to it….

You notice that a lot if you’re a car guy and get into towing. Also those Transit tippers are illegal half the time. They can’t tow more than 2.8 tonnes but usually have a 2.8 tonne digger on a half tonne trailer but I think the authorities don’t know how to read the plant models which clearly have the weight incorporated in the model name slapped across the machine in massive font.
How about not having a sig at all?

Dammit, you all got here first on Harris's Draylon interior. I admire the commitment, but not the fact that it's shit.

When I was young a friend's dad had a Princess and it was the most luxurious car that I had ever travelled in. We had a Beetle at the time with the plastic basket weave seats :D
