Randomness
Re: Randomness
On the topic of social media I saw the weirdest thing today.
Just a stones throw from South Kensington there’s a cafe, they sell croissants the size of a baby. Seriously these things are ridiculous. Outside the small cafe there were 2 tables, both occupied by young women, dressed up like they’re going to the Met Gala. They had their own semi professional camera crew - think DSLRs with pretty big lenses - filming them eating this.
Told my mate and apparently it’s a big social media thing. Clearly we follow very different Instagram accounts

Google’s AI is not quite producing the answers you might expect. Click the link, there’s a whole load of them.
Re: Randomness
Just looking at the bottom of this forum and there's a Google Bot online probably collating any old bollocks and using them as facts.
Not sure why they don't only use a list of professional sites and online encyclopaedias to train it.

Re: Randomness
Because who chooses which sites are OK ? It's censorship and whatever you do, whatever sites get blocked, someone will bleat about it being unfair and political and propaganda.
You need a totally independent & impartial system with absolutely no human influence. Come to think of it, AI would be a perfect way of choosing which sites are legitimate
Re: Randomness
One of the major problems with AI is that it doesn’t cite its sources. This is dodgy from a copyright perspective as it might be taking copyrighted work and reproducing it, but also because it might have been trained on complete bollocks.
Also was reading a story today about an AI that learned how lying is the best way to succeed and achieve your aims so quickly began to completely make shit up

And the W8 is one I need to cross off my list…
Except in the Phaeton, Touareg, and A8.

Re: Randomness
That made me look at engine configurations again and it quickly got silly. Straight-fourteen sir ?

My wife says I'm not allowed one. I'll leave this one to Dave!

The only straight-14 engine known to reach production is part of the Wärtsilä-Sulzer RTA96-C family of 6-cylinder to 14-cylinder two-stroke marine engines. This engine is used in the Emma Mærsk, which was the world's largest container ship when it was built in 2006. The engine produces 80,080 kW (107,390 hp) and displaces 25,340 L (1,546,342 in3), has a bore of 960 mm (38 in) and a stroke of 2,500 mm (98 in). The engine is 27.3 metres (90 ft) long, 13.5 m (44 ft) high and weighs 2,300 t (2,535 short tons).

Re: Randomness
107 thousand bhp sounds pretty nuts, but then you realise it’s only making 4.25bhp/litre

Oh, a quick Google answered that one.
5,608,310 lbf⋅ft @ 102 rpm

Re: Randomness
Turbocharged at 102 rpm. I wonder if the lag can be measured in minutes, and how may PSI that can generate.
