The year?
2024

What the FUCK is going on?
Calm down.

Sorry about that - what's happening?
You've just had a major Euromillions win. But they added a new clause recently : that if the jackpot is > £100million you must purchase one of the vehicles listed below within 2 days, or forfeit the lot.
There are no options other than those listed.
The car cannot be sold, but can of course be left to one or more people as an inheritance when you die.
It must be driven a minimum of 2k miles per year, and the spec you want for each is available. Somehow. :?
If these terms are breached, the car (or something of equivalent value) will be taken from you, and that guy at work you don't like will be allowed to punch you - full force - right in the coupon. THREE times. Without consequence to them.

Shiiit. What do I do? :o
Choose.

Are these the only options?
FFS do I have to go over this again?

Sorry, I wasn't paying attention properly
That's OK.

Hang on. What if I crash it and it gets written off
Why do you always over-complicate things? Just don't crash it OK?

I feel like you need a creative outlet mik.

I did have to pause on this briefly, because I do really like the T50. The engine is wild, I can't believe how much it weighs, looks might be a little plain but I don't think that would phase me.

However, the F1 is just too special to ignore. I'm just the F1 generation. Therefore, that is my choice.

Plus, I've won the euromills, I'll get a T50 anyway, probably not a Singer but definitely a 911K.

Singer for me, they could make it lovely and subtle and not crazy fast si could take it out and not worry about it getting pinched too.

The answer is the F1. The singer presents a good case, but the F1 is always the winner.

T50

It's comes across as an F1 without the usabiliy compromises (IE better AC and brakes) and with an equally fucking crazy powerplant for the size of it.

I can always buy an F1 later.

I’d still take an F40 over anything ideally an LM, but I’m not going to be too fussy. Mclaren f1 lm road car would always be second to one, but definitely very high on my list.

Ah, didn’t even read the options properly, thought the last one was Singer or anything else.

From that list F1, wouldn’t give the rest a seconds thought.

Which one is quietest & comfortablest ? I'm not going to do 2000 miles of fun driving per year so I'll have to regard most of it as work and I want it to be as painless as possible.

Do Singer do modern Porsches ? The aircooled ones are tiny (and feel like a Beetle) so they're a non-starter for normal height folk like me.

I'm surprised no-one seems to be interested in experiencing a 170bhp/litre 3.9 V12 that screams to 12,000rpm in a car that weighs around a ton wet.

Guess nostalgia is a helluva drug.

Miks rules were pretty explicit - choose 1.

How you've got to "no one being interested in experiencing..." from that is a mystery.

Pretty much that for me. F1 has always been mighty, and hugely desirable but was never known as being friendly/forgiving.

T50 therefore noses it for me, as it appears to encourage you to push harder, brings some safety nets, and offers better brakes & traction. Stronger aircon and PAS at parking speeds both sound trivial, but I bet each adds hugely to the practicality & therefore usability.

I'm not usually a fan of screaming engines, but the beauty of multi-cylinder layouts is that they tend to have layers (like ogres) and listening to Henry's vid through the stereo - there are lower frequencies there too that make the overall cacophony really quite something. :geek:

As @duncs500 mused - it would be interesting to know how many soon-to-be T50 owners already have an F1. I bet it's quite a few.....

The F1 is being constantly evolved. I used to occasionally read that thread on PH about the guy with the F1. I recall he had his brakes and suspension upgraded all through MSO. I think they improved the headlights too and changed the fuel tank material so it didn't need to get replaced every few years.
It's a PITA to google though because the terms "McLaren F1" just bring up a billion things related to their racing program. Stupid name
How about not having a sig at all?
