1. 1/4" bits wouldn't fit the end of the driver - the female end suit 5/16".Jobbo wrote: Mon May 13, 2024 8:04 am 1. If an electrical impact driver can copy with 1/4" bits, does the mechanical impact driver really need 5/16" bits or is that simply to withstand the smacking with a hammer?
2. Any idea what sort of torque you can achieve with a mechanical impact driver and how they compare?
3. ETA: Teng are a name I've heard for many years so they're not an Aliexpress brand.
1. Obviously - I was more thinking you need to move with the times and get a tool which you can get bits formik wrote: Mon May 13, 2024 8:09 am

2. No idea. The beauty of the mechanical driver is that you turning it whilst driving the bit hard into the fixing - so you very rarely have any skipping issues.
1. I don't think I've seen a manual impact driver that uses the smaller bits?Jobbo wrote: Mon May 13, 2024 8:26 am1. Obviously - I was more thinking you need to move with the times and get a tool which you can get bits formik wrote: Mon May 13, 2024 8:09 am

2. That's the beauty of an electrical impact driver too... (the lack of camming out anyway).
It's very deliberate - my surname begins with a W
Interesting point Rich, but Steve’s is a W-Sport badge.Rich B wrote: Mon May 13, 2024 10:15 am That's the thing with buying older M cars, they've always got a surplus of M badges stuck on by over enthusiastic previous owners that need removing and re-homing (the badges, the owners should be already removed)...
