Would it not be better to just get a loan / mortgage for the house stuff and keep the M3 ?
yep, it’s another option.

How about a cheaper car until the house is done and that might be a useful bus for doing it?

I can’t think of anything I’d want and I already have an estate car.

Fwiw Golf R specs have been changed recently, -10PS, no three door, no manuel, possibly a particulate filter.

I've heard that the Post July build M140i's (ie mine) have the particulate filter and they have programmed out all the pop, pop, burble, burble on the over run and they are now quite a bit quieter.  #becauseWTLP

Poop timing :(

Based on tossers round these parts between speed ramps I won't miss the shouty pops & bangs, but it'll be a pity if the PF removes the chance of getting a tune out of it.

Shane if it's true but it'll still be plenty quick just with less of the fun noises.

Saying that though, there's someone in the next village who has a new A45AMG night edition and he insists on sport+ mode and lots of second/third gear lift off bang bang bangs through the village. It's really chuffing loud and very annoying. Makes me want to run outside and make vigorous hand gestures as he bang bang bangs past 😂😂

Manufactured pops and farts, that are the same with every shift, are very effective Cunt Identification Devices.

On the M140i it's the little pops and burbles on the overrun that seem to have been softwared out. No cracks or bangs on upshifts like some. I liked the overrun stuff!

When I got taken out in an F-Type R, it was the fact it was exactly the same manufactured nonsense with every gear change that really irked me. Couldn't they have say 10 different sounds to choose from each time?

It's just automotive masturbation and although that sounds like something I would support in full, I don't - at all. It needs to stop - it's fucking gay.

Embrace it guys.

I'd rather hear a 1.0 Nova with a Peco BigBore 4 than listen to a hybrid Auris whisp past :D

We need more noise and add flames whilst they're at it.

Is giving you fake noizes, to make up for your shit sounding engine, not just a little like having your nuts surgically removed, pickled and then given back to you as a dashboard ornament so at least you can remember what it was like to have a pair?

I guess if you've already been castrated then you'd probably be quite happy with this sort of 'progress'.

That is exactly how I think about it in my mind - literally, to the letter.

Agreed.

It's annoying bullshit and needs to stop.
