I guess you can tell by their response to your tweets; pr0n bot says "fvck me", human says "fvck you".

Re: Twitter
No it isn't.
Re: Twitter
Ok, and indeed I'll do quite the opposite; start shutting you up. The matter, now amicably resolved, shall henceforth be spoken of no more.

FASCIST!
Re: Twitter
Looking forward to buying an Elophone
Re: Twitter
Yeah, Facebok tried that at one point.
Haven't heard of the facebook phone?
There's reason for that.
Re: Twitter
It's not a secret. Everyone in tech knows about the 30%.
Apart from Elon apparently.

Re: Twitter
All the app stores charge the same, you'd have thought that if you buy an app company, you'd find out these basics - they're certainly not "secrets"!Simon wrote: Tue Nov 29, 2022 1:20 pm It's not a secret. Everyone in tech knows about the 30%.

Oh, sorry I mean - I can't believe apple are such cunts to Elon, they're against free speech and I know Elon will defeat them..
Re: Twitter
I was wondering if he looked at any of the financials for Twitter before he bought but I think it’s becoming increasingly clear that he didn’t
It’s funny that he thinks dragging Apple on twitter will change anything. Just because he’s desperate for approval.

Re: Twitter
There was a time when the Twitter app was pre-installed on iOS. I assume it's not now. Wonder how much Twitter paid for that?
ETA: I can't find much about the above now. Googling it only brought up one result, which was that it was a suggested rather than pre-installed app. It certainly seemed to have been integrated thoroughly into iOS if so, with its own dedicated section in Settings.
Further edit: I have found an article from 2017 about how Apple removed the embedded integration of Twitter and Facebook, to start treating them like other apps: https://www.macrumors.com/2017/06/05/fa ... ed-ios-11/
FInal edit: found it at last - https://blog.twitter.com/en_us/a/2011/t ... ade-simple

IIRC quite a few apps had that, waaay back in the day though.Jobbo wrote: Tue Nov 29, 2022 2:54 pm There was a time when the Twitter app was pre-installed on iOS. I assume it's not now. Wonder how much Twitter paid for that?

Longer term iPhone users might remember better (I just fixed them, I didn't own one at the time)
I'm still giggling at Musk not realising that by his own 'free speech absolutionist' rules, Apple are well within their rights to fuck Twitter out of the App store; particularly given Apples long standing policy of not allowing apps that enable harrasssment of marginalised/vulnerable people.
I mean, Tim Cook is gay - and Musk is crowing about letting nazis and bigots and other people who have been hugely harassing to minorities and vulneralbe communities (and got suspended as a result) but might not have made direct criminal offences in the process.
What direction did Business Genius Musk think that would go in?

He really is thick as mince.
Re: Twitter
The 30% fee shouldn’t even affect twitter much should it? The app itself is free and if you want to pay for blue it can just direct you to the twitter website?
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: Twitter
I love how he's riling up his fans with the whole "free speech" crap as a justification for him not wanting to pay the standard fees every other app pays. It is a lot like a Trump campaign...
