Your fleet running reports
Re: Your fleet running reports
Not exactly great is it. There's not much to go wrong on an EV and still they mess it up!
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Your fleet running reports
It’s actually quite a decent engine, let down by a bearing issue on the balance shaft, and they don’t work properly with a dpf in transverse installation, which is most of the cars that they’re fitted to!MikeHunt wrote: Tue May 24, 2022 2:07 pm A friend is head of fleet for the AA, they have a contract with JLR. he said that the 2.0 Diesel engine is so unreliable that they have circa 1500 courtesy cars on loan at any one time, its not unusual for the courtesy cars to fail which results in some very irate drivers.
I recently test drove an ipace which broke down outside the dealership, complete power failure and I almost felt sorry for the salesman![]()

Funny that as people used to say that the ipace was ok as it was the only car that Jaguar don't build themselves
Re: Your fleet running reports
My wife had one on lease for 18 months, not only did it have 3 major faults but each time there was a delay as the local dealer was limited in the work they could do and so it was necessary to book experts from the factory to connect in via the internet. I had hoped they had improved since launch but the test drive told me otherwise.DeskJockey wrote: Tue May 24, 2022 4:16 pm

First track day in the Elise. Absolute poured it down but thankfully dried up a bit. Absolutely loved it. Made all the more enjoyable by the respectful other drivers. Really glad I booked with Lotus on Track. Can't wait to get out there again.

The Vito is booked for a remap next Wednesday. It *allegedly* takes it from 95bhp to 180bhp. I don’t really care about the peak power, but some extra torque would be nice for towing and it’s meant to improve the fuel consumption slightly too.
We can do a sweepstake on which bits will break first
The clutch is top of my list.

Re: Your fleet running reports
I noticed our minis near side mirror wobbling a bit this morning - in nearer inspection it was about to drop off, which it did when prodded.
Is there a specific sticky pad to use to stick these back on? Was thinking numberplate double sided stuff but might be a bit thick (like me)
Hmm I'm not sure if theyre heated so that wont be ideal....

Got the 6 series back. New water pump and another coolant hose has been replaced and so far after 60 miles it’s not spewed out all the coolant.

View is 750 or above is too much but some modern stuff gets to 850.

Your pants, as you shit yourself from the staggering amount of torque when the turbot spools up and slings you towards the horizon at a terrifying rate of knotsSundayjumper wrote: Wed May 25, 2022 10:46 am The Vito is booked for a remap next Wednesday. Shortly followed by the driveshafts.

More importantly I took the boxster to get fuel. No fresh oil visible on wheel. I reckon a decade hose of some sort. Booked in Tuesday.

An ipace, the Zoe are generally reliable from what Ive heard, the jags are the opposite.DeskJockey wrote: Tue May 24, 2022 9:37 pmWhat did she have? Re: Your fleet running reports
I genuinely don't get why anyone buys JLR stuff - the reliability seems to be worse than anything even the French spew out.
I had to wait leaving the works car park just 30mins ago whilst a Range Rover was winched on to a flatbed
L405 I think it was but I'm not well up on the numbers of the heaps.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Volkswagen, Audi and JLR seems to be the big hitters amongst people I know with regards to failures.
I really like the L322 RR but test drove 2 and broke down in both.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Can’t remember if I mentioned it last time, but I swapped the HSD coilovers off the m3 onto the compact as although it sat nicely it was too soft to be that low, I’ve chewed the wings just driving very gently onto our drive. It now sits a tad lower but also has more clearance and doesn’t bit the arches. Win win!
I’ve never liked M badges on non ‘proper’ M cars, so even though it’s a sport with Msport bits the M badges on the door rub strips have always annoyed me. I thought I’d try something different and contacted a company who make custom badges and got them to use a print of the seat fabric as a background. I realise they won’t be to everyone’s (anyone’s?? ) taste, but I like them

I then gave it a polish to make the most of the terrible paint and took it to retrorides. Spent most of the weekend in the campsite, but on the Sunday I took it over to the track for retro parking.
I thought it looked great in the sunshine against the blue sky and green grass. Seemed to get a lot of attention for a daily runabout put together with parts I had laying around.
