It’s finished other than new rear door seals and wheels (zero offset ‘wolf’ in Limestone).
They painted the galv without asking, which I was initially upset about, but both of the tub corners were damaged and needed some attention, and given that I’ve never been to the bodyshop I’ll let them off.
I doubt I’ll ever sell it, but if I do and want it original it’s not exactly difficult to spend a day taking them off and having them dipped.
I’m looking forward to seeing how leak free a Series Land Rover is with new seals everywhere!

That's not far away, 30-45 mins. I thought Kwik Fit had Hunter equipment.

I still can’t decide whether to drive it back to Cornwall from Leicester or trailer it behind the 110.
Originally it was going to be a trailer as my Dad has a Porsche tractor down there that needs bringing up, but the guy rebuilding it want to display it at the Cornwall show next June, which is too long for me.

Finally remembered to check the tyre pressures today when cold. They were all about 3psi down on what they should be, so presumably set that way since it's not a cold day today. I pumped them up to 1psi over the minimum recommended pressure all round. I knew the car was running on Goodyear F1 Assymmetric 5s all round but hadn't realised how recent they are; the date marks are two 02/21 and two 15/21, and the tread is over 7mm on every one. Will be interesting to see how well they last. Blackcircles shows they're cheaper than the Merc tyres despite being 20"s, probably because they're not such an unusual size.

I'm going to get a set of winters again; I can find plenty of sets of the 18" Allroad wheels on German eBay, including tyres, for about £650 delivered which seems reasonable.

Audi sh@t its clutch and dmf on Sunday with zero warning, something is now rattling badly, £1k replace. Not worth it on a car thats worth £1500 and due an MOT in October (we have owned it 22 months). Scrappers coming next week, £289.
Wife wants to get an MPV (with 7 seats), something huge like a Sedona or Galaxy/Alhambra, which will probably have to be a derv. I'm trying to persuade her that an 07 3.0v6 Mondeo Titanium Estate for about half our budget that I've spotted locally would be a better car, enough room for 3 kids (2 teens) in the back, had a recent clutch/DMF and spark plug change, cheaper parts. MPG does not matter as our annual mileage is low.
What is more annoying is the car market is rubbish at the moment, I have £3k to spend and I am struggling to find something with a good spec (climate control is essential), that is big enough with good history, mostly 2008 to 2010 cars.

Currently borrowing my Dads Carens, its comfortable, but the engine is aweful, turbo is like an on/off switch, wheel spins very easily (it has cross climates) whilst going slower than the Audi off the mark, so I am 100% sure I don't want a small derv !

The problem with remapping old diesels is all those components that weren't overstressed, now are (or were).

3k doesn't seem to buy much anymore, this looks OK but it's far away!

The 3.0 v6 isn't great in those older Mondeos, I was surprised how slow they were, and 550 quid tax or whatever it is might be a consideration on a 2007 one.

Needs to be an estate, often used for tip runs, craft fairs are starting again too.
TBH, the clutch/DMF must of been well worn to start with, the remap is not an issue as its the same clutch gearbox in the more powerful 180bhp 2.5v6 which has the same torque as mine had remapped.

Mito MOT today, flying colours etc.

Wasn’t all plain sailing though, had noticed some paint bubbling on one of the callipers when I washed it the other day, took the wheel off and one of the inner bleed nipples was weeping. Must have been doing it a while as it’s destroyed the paint on the back of it, but been pretty minor as the fluid level hasn’t dropped much.

Went to nip it up and it went loose

I bought an insert kit not long after buying the callipers as I knew one of the threads was a little dodgy, but a new nipple seemed to fit and seal fine at the time so I left it.

Managed to get it drilled and tapped for an insert, and thankfully get it sealed.

Didn’t really want to swap the standard setup back on ( and can’t remember whether there was any pad left ) and no time to wait for a replacement calliper which might have had the same issue.
