Ah! Fingers crossed it gets home ok, and that that seal is all it is 8-)

When the Polo threw its aux belt the steering weighted up plenty enough, and that's an 860kg car on 175 tyres

Whilst I wait for pizza to cook.

I've just mapped out our route to Morcambe and the Lakes this weekend on Google maps and we covered 288 miles on 30 litres, which works out at 43.5MPG, with 5 people and a bootful of luggage/food, the tacho reports 290 miles, but the onboard MPG was 41MPG which is about 5% out, similar to the speedometer.
Was happy to see we had almost exactly same acceleration as a Mk7 Golf GTD which we followed for a while on some empty private roads, with the remap it should be a similar power/torque to weight ratio to the GTD, which is pleasing to confirm.

and a manuel iirc. Excellent mpg for such a laden car 8-) I don't think I'd expect any more from a 130pd B5.5 Passat.

Yup manual.
Well the speeds were low overal, lots of traffic, little spirited driving opportunities, plus I took some real little roads over some fells, I would of thought a bit more MPG from a 130pd, even in the slightly heavier B5.5.

The speedo on the Jag is fucked. It's reading a minimum of 45mph. I've got it booked in for a painful wallet drain on 1st September so I'll get it fixed then.

Alfasud mot first thing friday. I’m expecting no issues as it looked solid when I was under it a couple of months ago.

Probably all turned to rust by now

Flying colours etc.

No concerns from the MOT about the slight pull to the left that it has. I shall take it to Kwik Fit for an alignment check - unless there's somewhere that people can recommend to sort out those sorts of things?

That's not far away, 30-45 mins. I thought Kwik Fit had Hunter equipment.

My spidey sense tingled before I went in so I took a photo of the front right wheel before thinking I can't be arsed to take a photo of the other one.

They did the tyres, and sure enough, there's a big chip out of one of the spokes on the front right wheel! To be fair, they didn't deny it (when I showed them the before photo) but I'm sure it'll turn into a hassle. The main issue is they are diamond cut spokes, so any damage will end up spreading.

Excuse the filthy wheel, underneath they are (were) in perfect condition.

Lots of arse covering emails sent, I expect nothing to get sorted though.
I forgot to follow up this - fair play to Kwikfit, they may be incompetent at fitting tyres, but they did give me £138 to refurb my wheel!

I have no intention of doing the refurb, but if the lease company question it, at least I have the money (tbf the scratch doesn't stand out so much with the car clean anyway).

Kwikfit will probably do a great job of not sorting alignment out (seized bolts, not allowed to use heat blah blah), but they will try and push you a new exhaust, 2 tyres and those disks and pads are awfully worn..

The two may be related. Get the battery fully recharged and see if the problem sorts itself.
