Mercedes Groups
Re: Mercedes Groups
Yeah, UKSaabs particularly are very good. Volvoforums UK is helpful but chock full of entitled gammons. Probably reflecting the ownership demographic....16vCento wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 12:39 pmI've never had any issues on UKSaabs or Volvoforums UK?NGRhodes wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 11:41 amSome of the Saab and Volvo groups, every time I've looked it felt like you have to own one of a very small set of specific model/engine/gearbox combos made within a specific 6 month window, only serviced by specific specialist garages( even if you live 500 miles away) on a full moon, to be accepted as part of the group.Gavin wrote: Mon Mar 29, 2021 8:18 am I have been in various one make forum groups on t'net and Facebook over the years but I have never come across so many people who post pictures with caption such as "My Baby" or "Love of my life"![]()
Not as many "Ah, your one is shit, you want this older one" that you do in Saab and Volvo though!![]()
Everyone seems pretty helpful to each other tbh!
I was more meaning the Facebook groups although Pumapeople (a long time ago) and UKSaabs were notable exceptions to the norm.

Re: Mercedes Groups
To be honest, I was dreading encountering the stereotypical braying twats that you'd think populate the Porsche community. But the Rennlist 928 Forums are just amazing. There is literally an answer there for any 928 issue and the people there are very polite and helpful. The 928 specific Facebook groups are great too. You do seem to get the odd cretin in the general Porsche groups - one tool described his £4K 2.5 Boxster as his "German supercar"
But for the most part it's nowhere near as horrific as you'd expect.
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.

Yeah, humble guy with god-level skillz...maybe not on the driving side, as he would be the first to admit.

Spoiler, he spends less than two minutes actually driving it without a soundtrack killing any other audio, and the extent of driving impressions that I saw before I gave up were 'it's good'.mr_jon wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 5:11 pmBuy the one that Peter Bjorck is selling!
