Slumming it

Not my sandwich and we were in separate cars

Not many options for good food in Crewe at the best of times, this was a handy departure point. Egg sarnie was my best option
when you say airbags, you mean suspension yeah?! I got very confused at first thinking "how would you know if your (passenger safety) airbags are leaking?!"V8Granite wrote: Fri Mar 19, 2021 9:24 am £1000 spent on 4 airbags for the ML as 2 have a slight leak. Bought some Arnott bags as the other makes, Aerosus and some re-branded stuff seem to have a tendency to go bang. Arnott seem to be the absolute best.
There is a slight knock only when going over speed bumps so I’ll probably change the drop links and arb bushes at the same time, it’s done nearly 130,000 miles now so not a surprise it may need a little refresh.
Dave!
Ha, great minds think alike (and idiots seldom differ)Rich B wrote: Fri Mar 19, 2021 9:36 amwhen you say airbags, you mean suspension yeah?! Yes very much so, really I should have said Air Springs.Rich B wrote: Fri Mar 19, 2021 9:36 amwhen you say airbags, you mean suspension yeah?! I’ve no idea what they are valued at to be honest. The value is in what the car does for me rather than what it sells for.
Rather jealous.16vCento wrote: Fri Mar 19, 2021 8:37 pm So 3 months on and the XF is growing on me more and more.
It needs to make more noise though, I hate quiet cars, if you accidentally hit a gearshift paddle, and it goes into manual, it's so quiet and smooth you don't realise until you look at the rev counter sat at 4500 rpm that you've done it
Also I think it may be the best car I've ever had MPG wise.
Went to Keelham farm shop in Skipton (10 mile each way) for our normal Friday shop and I thought I'd reset the trip as I filled up.
52.3 MPG on the journey there and back. And the trip computer is pretty accurate from the last brim to brim calculation I did
Not bad going for a near 300hp car that weighs 1800 kg.
Wonder what it would be like with a freer flowing exhaust and a bit of fettling........
Cheers, bit of a useless comparison below as drivers side was much worse than the passenger side and probably still is.
