It was my suggestion to use as the cover shot

Re: ....and we're back as OV9
The bottom one is landscape. There are 3 separate images to use in various ways.GG. wrote: Fri Apr 13, 2018 6:25 pm Yes, now we only need to be worried about being sued by Steve McQueen's estate and Martini![]()
I suppose my only real criticisms would be that the image really needs to be landscape to work at the top of the forum and I suppose it does look a bit like Steve M's hand and the number 09 unless you know what you're looking for.
Anyway, it's just another idea to throw in the hat.
Cheers.

I like it but the only issue is if it gets turned into a sticker it will look like a gang logo
That said we could be inadvertently forming the next Hells Angels type gang but on 4 wheels. We’ve got all the makings for it - criminals, predominantly white males, many members with questionable facial hair.

How about not having a sig at all?

Why would Martini care?GG. wrote: Fri Apr 13, 2018 6:25 pm Yes, now we only need to be worried about being sued by Steve McQueen's estate and Martini![]()

I like the middle one, you've got to get at least a bit of his face or it could be anyone.
Re: ....and we're back as OV9
If you want a sticker, you can always simplify it. Again. V rough draft.Mito Man wrote: Fri Apr 13, 2018 6:36 pm I like it but the only issue is if it gets turned into a sticker it will look like a gang logo![]()

Not on the basis of the paper quality of what arrived in my post today.

The white would be the colour of your car. The black outline would be the vinyl and could be any colour.
Cheers.

If the negative space is the colour of your car then Mik’s shit out of luck - even if he puts it on his tyrewalls

Got back earlier, opened the bag, placed it on the side in the kitchen but haven't looked at it yet. In the past, I'd have sat down for a flick through prior to reading probably in a month or so. Not so fussed these days, even before Recent Events.

Their best writers left with the remainder/new recruits typing out mundane copy. A decent number of the road tests are of (to me) narcolepsy inducing warm hatchbacks or saloons and most of their Evo fast fleet are dull as ditchwater. Think that pretty much sums it up.
Oh an if you have to have a racing driver write a column, an old hand with a fascinating back catalogue like Derek Bell writing for Octane is much more readable than Fanchitti.

I wouldn't say the copy is mundane. Towler puts out some good stuff which is growing on me. Perhaps the recent revolving door needs to slow down (or better yet, stop completely) in order for the readers to get settled with the writers.GG. wrote: Fri Apr 13, 2018 7:48 pm Their best writers left with the remainder/new recruits typing out mundane copy. I had to turn off notifications on the FB group page. Tim Skipper did this, Tim Skipper did that... it was driving me nuts.

The quality of the writing has definitely gone down, as has the proof reading.
