Me neither. M140i has been sat doing sod all for most of this month covered in snow and ice for a chuck of that too. Perfectly fine inside.

Metal valve caps are horrible.

Not as horrible as when you have what I suspect were dealer fit BMW valve caps, get a pair of tyres replaced, and the tyre fitter just bins them (or more likely, pockets them).

Daylight fucking robbery.

The Cayenne has white instrument dials and I took an immediate dislike to them but yesterday I realised why. In daylight, the numbers are dark against the white face. In the dark, the numbers are illuminated. BUT if you’re driving in daylight with the lights on, e.g. it’s raining, you have light numbers against a light background and you can hardly read them. Rubbish

I’d already ordered another set of instruments from eBay and they arrived today. I’ll just swap the faces over.

911 clonking over bumps, so it’s back off the road for another refresh.

Top mounts, probably the other coffin arms that didn’t get done last time.

Also engine mounts, and interestingly the internet tell me 997 parts are the same as 996 parts and half the price

The exhaust manifold bolts don’t look great but that’s a world of pain and not leaking so might just leave the corrosion allowance

Yeh half the part numbers for the 997 are marked 996.x.xxxx.xxxx

I forget who makes it but there is a really nicely made jig where aslong as 2 or more studs are present it acts as a guide to drill them out.

Then Titanium Allen headed studs and copper plated nuts.

It means you have an excuse to fit a tubular manifold, but a compact right angle drill and a shiny anodised special tool.

I have similar white dials but they have solved the issue on the 997.2s as it seems to have a light sensor like on the iphone so if your cabin is still light it doesn't switch the backlighting on even if you have the headlamps on. Quite confusing though as I sometimes think the backlight bulb has broken!
