It was more tongue and cheek post if that helps.
Well I for one think it's good! Why? Because if I get caught speeding I won't get a fine, it's pretty obvious isn't it?
As if Brits were not despised enough in certain quarters, now we have people delighted they can break the law with impunity!

Speed - "break the law" suggests we could do whatever we like and not be pursued. And it goes both ways...

Dry yer eyes, it used to be like that anyway. As many others, I've only ever got done by being pulled and escorted to a cash machine anyway!

And if people are going to start crying about speeding, they're probably on the wrong forum.

Who the fuck is crying you spanker? :D But if avoiding a fine is the best that Brexit can offer for the hundreds of billions spent on it... maybe it's just not that great?

A perceived benefit of Brexit, found one! (for the people who want the break the law).

You can still get on the spot fines. I'm sure you could probably get arrested if the crime was egregious enough as well.

I don't think you'll find too many on here that think it is great. It is however not the cause of all the world's ills. It's also over, so it's probably not worth getting bent out of shape over anymore. ;)

They’ve always had it better than us in Europe anyway. When we go to Europe we have to pay their fucking vignettes, emissions crap for those stickers and motorway tolls.

When they come to the U.K. they don’t pay any congestion charge, ULEZ, or Dartcharge.

Plus they won’t get sent tickets either.
How about not having a sig at all?

I've been flashed loads in France and never seen a ticket. I'd be inclined to believe the French fuzz maybe a little more firm when punishing British drivers for a while. I have no evidence for that, it just how I think they'll behave 😂

It is not over though is it, there will be years of negotiating all sorts, Christ, we could have a unified Ireland before that happens. This thread or certainly the last page or so has been people laughing at any perceived benefit of Brexit so I joined in. Also, nobody suggested it is the cause of all the worlds' ills.

Brexit is over yes. Unless you're going to describe every trade negotiation as Brexit for ever more... :)

I don't think I've ever driven in Europe, so still doesn't do much for me... if you can make use of the up to 90 days in 180 at some point, anyone want to try it out? It says on the spot fines still can be handed out though.
I’ve never been through France without being flashed by at least one camera but I’ve never had a ticket sent to me in the U.K so I’ve always found that surprising (same with my dad).
We both never run the GB stickers though so maybe that helps!
How recently? 2018 is when I started receiving tickets, and I’d been flashed at least once a year before that for 19 years without receiving any.

I've only been flashed once (to my knowledge) but that was in Italy.

However, being Italy, it was probably a warning that I was going too slow...

Cameron era tories - "Let's open up the NHS to the private sector so our mates can bid for contracts and get a slice of the pie"
Johnson-era tories - "Bid for contracts? Slice of pie? Nah, let's re-centralise and make sure our mates get the contracts and the whole fucking pie"
"If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough"

Labour era politics - let’s borrow the shite out things and use public money to buy subsequent elections by creating... artificially... a cohort of voters who feel they MUST vote Labour to keep their jobs...

And so on...

If only there was some political system that would make these black and white choices less troublesome.
