So apparently lots of people got on trains yesterday to flee London (
Sky News) so if this is to partly stop the spread to the rest of the country it's a bit f'ing late to do that! People will do what they're gonna do, regardless of the rules. Because they're cunts.
There's lots of smug posts on social media today from people who left London last night on crowded trains or whatever, headed for the north. Whilst the government have handled things extremely badly, particularly with the ever-changing rules in recent days/weeks, is this not just going to become the catalyst for a big spike in numbers in following weeks? Or is it over-simplifying things to think that lots of people from an area with a high number of cases (including this new strain) travelling all over the country is going to be a shit show?
And this "Christmas is Cancelled" narrative is utter bollocks too. Its been a hell of a long, shitty year, but between the government and people ignoring the rules & guidelines, I do wonder where we'd be now if a lot of the population had just thought a bit more about the consequences of their actions.
