Re: BBQs
I want a gas bbq , but when I think about having had one in the past it was probably less convenient due to being a PITA to clean. *sigh* All the years of hard work being correct destroyed in 4 words :( What he said . If you want a barbeque get a barbeque, not a gas cooker for your patio.

Re: Decent Recent TV
Started catching up with Jessica Jones on Netflix as well. I was pretty disappointed, picked up fantastically while there was a reappearance from Season1 but that was it's only saving grace IMO. Enjoying season 5 Agents of Shield. Yeah unsure about Jessica Jones so far, it's a bit all over the plac...

Re: Harry’s Garage
I think the gap between the Rolls and a more normal luxury car has closed a lot. I was messing round in the 7 series configurator a couple of weeks ago and a lot of the tech is clearly recognisable between the two, which is a shame. It seems to have lost a lot of the simple luxury of the older Phant...

Re: The idle dreaming “what next” thread.
Cool, that's pretty interesting (to me at least).
I wonder if anyone who owns one has asked JLR to put the Jag V8 in it now that they've done that special edition, even with the Bowler mods the diesel engine doesn't seem right . I guess it would just be a collection piece to most people though.

Ah, I didn't know Harry's was a fake one. Must've been pissed at that . I knew Andy Bruce had one, didn't know it was for sale.
Is there just the one genuine one out in the world?

Aye, it's basically whatever they can get away with. Apparently the legit Spectre ones like the one Harry Metcalfe has are £100k+.
Defenders are almost always valued too high imo. The only way you get a bargain is if you buy one that needs a lot of work or are lucky at an ex military auction.

Could you imagine being enough of a cunt to think that spending £70k on this bullshit is reasonable. https://img.pistonheads.com/LargeSize/land-rover/defender/td-xs-dcb/land-rover-defender-td-xs-dcb-S3373536-1.jpg A THOR "Spectre Edition" 110 based on the latest James Bond film, "Spec...

I thought that was a Chevy Corvair when I first glanced at it. Hadn't heard of it before, nice looking thing though.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Nope I never finished RDR for that exact reason, it felt like wild west GTA4. Same fetch mission formula that had got quite boring by the time it came out. Saying that, GTA 5 updated the gameplay enough to feel interesting again so they might have worked the same magic with this. I'm not going to be...

Re: The idle dreaming “what next” thread.
what would/could you actually use a winch for? Towing other vehicles out of stuck situations? Tieing it round a tree and pulling yourself out of somewhere? Both, some people make a sport of trying to winch themselves over terrain that the vehicle wouldn't manage unaided. TBF, these days most Defend...

Re: The idle dreaming “what next” thread.
Agree a 130 is a more practical vehicle. This is more about heart than head though, I think 110 crewcabs look cool, 130s just don't look good. Initial plan was to get a 90 pickup with the centre seat so I could take the 2 boys, but my daughter now joins us so need the crewcab. The bed would be more...

Re: £££
Matty's coining it in selling our data to watch makers and leas companies.
Re: £££
Matty hosts it as he already hosts a couple of forums.
People have already mentioned chipping some money in if he needs it so I'm assuming he'd say if he did?

Re: The idle dreaming “what next” thread.
I am debating between a cheap MR2 mk3 or a considerably more expensive (as in yolo expensive) Alfa 4c. Middle ground would be the latest MX5, which could have cams or a turbo. I’ve also been thinking about an a8 or phaeton for the other half to replace the golf. Possibly a symptom of getting older ...
Re: Sky
You know you can ffwd those adverts? Life ain’t that hard, mate. its more the fact that they put them there that grinds my gears, its not acceptable for a premium service IMO to try to fleece you for more money sky on the whole just seams like a horrifically expensive old fashioned way of watching ...

Re: The idle dreaming “what next” thread.
There isn't really anything new I want. Current plans are still to find a decent sized lock up/workshop space here and get a bike and a muscle car. Maybe get an old Land Rover again. I've got a hankering for a something big, old and German as well. E23 7 series or W126 S-Class, just depends on wheth...

Nothing has been firmly announced for Phase 4 yet, I wouldn't be surprised if they were still pushing to get Fantastic Four back. Would open up a couple of really good bad guys for them.

I wish they would spread the good tv out through the year a bit more :). Currently watching Westworld, Legion and Handsmaid's Tale, all have been brilliant. Started catching up with Jessica Jones on Netflix as well. Walking Dead finale was ok. The sabotaged bullets thing was half assed and predictab...

Re: The Movie Thread
I watched Bladerunner 2049 yesterday. They somehow turned it into a snooze fest with less atmosphere than the original. Very disappointing. Dave! It's funny how people can watch the same movie and come away with diametrically opposed opinions on it . Tried watching the original again a couple ...
