Re: No F1 thread?

Unbelievable! I watched F1 practice and they showed the lip and JB was just "woah" could have been horrific.

Re: Bucket list items.

I was going to run an Ultra in August and training was going well untill 2 weeks ago when I totally bolloxed my hip. Dr in 10 days, good old NHS waiting times, so will defer my place. On the plus side, I will be very youngest in the 50+ category next summer. I have, despite wanting once since I was ...

Re: Seatbelts on planes

I would certainly be hacked off if some "they cannot make me wear a seat belt, I know my rights" type flew around the cabin and took me out! I must admit I keep my belt on, I tighten it for landing and take off, then loosen for flight. I have hit turbulence and the plan dropped for what se...

They are lovely cars, and the colour combo is definitely better than the description suggested. Hope it proves to be the comfy mile muncher he was after.

Re: People (Office)

My team has now decided to "expect" office attendance for our monthly team meeting, and for the team to work in the office all day, not just pop in for the meeting itself. Two of the managers below team leader level live far away so not sure how many will just not bother. The wording from ...

Re: Oliver Reed (25 year anniversary)

Ah, simpler times. They don't make 'em like that anymore. The armwrestling is just the icing on the cake. Two stories I heard this week from podcasts and books... Duff McKagan when trying to kick his vodka habit switched to wine. 10 bottles a day. And Paul Gascoigne was having a crap game in the fi...

Re: Ford Transit review

I hired a similar one last year but it came in Stealth grey metallic with no "enterprise" logo and it was not 4WD. I drove it from Galshiels to Hull on day 1, loaded up then back up the road to Aberdeen, unload then back to Gala on day 2. I was really impressed with the refinement and I th...

Re: The Movie Thread

Went to see Civil War last week. I really enjoyed it. It's far from the action movie you might think it's going to be if you've seen the trailers. It's essentially a story about war photographers, but also paints a picture of the mindset of the different US sub-cultures. It's a bit like the 2nd hal...

Rich B wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2024 2:35 pm I haven't seen the original for a long time, but i remember it being a lot more centred around actual fist fights in a RoadHouse (as in a rough bar by the side of a highway) rather than crashing speedboats into a straw roof beach bar?
That was Moonraker at a wedding iirc

997 S followed by a Cayman GT4 in lovely yellow, the a 992 Carrera T and some sort of black Porsche in the middle, but I was too busy looking at the yellow ones to see what they were.

Yeah Scott just got a Dacia Sandero I think it was. It used to be that Peugots and Volvos were far cheaper than the Polo/Corsa type.

I must admit, I quite like the look of those, but I would want at least a 300 mile range on any EV if it was our main car. I really like the interior, my Skoda is just unremittingly black. I love the dark green Emira though, but thegrey also looks fantastic, I have seen a few in the wild, I think bo...

Yeah, beige on beige. When I was trying to find a Superb 280 I talked to a Skoda dealer in Sheffield and all was going really well until he mentioined the netallic brown exterior and beige leather. I could probably have lived with the beige leather with black or very dark grey exterior and the brown...
