Re: Car insurance

My daughter's insurance is due for renewal in early May, I got a quotation for £184 for the year and knew it couldn't be right, it was cheap when she had a provisional, but the monthly payment wennt up to £193 when she passed in December.

Had a crack at the site, realised her details had her as ...

Re: M5 test drive report and new car thread

Nice, I suspect the S6 would have been out of my budget although had you kept it another year or two, I would likely have asked.

Having just got rid of the S5 and gone back to a diesel estate, I suspect I would get lynched if I suggested changing again! :D

I have seen the colour (I think) on ...

Re: Death

This is a great place to just write it all out. I am very lucky to have friends who I can speak to about pretty much anything, but having this place to just lay it all out is fantastic.

It is hard enough when it is a parent and they have lived into their 80s, but someone young (relatively so) is so ...

Re: Hot Wheels

When one of my kids asked for a twin pack R8 and GT3 RS I had high hopes. Neither of them has an interest in cars any more. I still have a box in the attic of some of my old ones, ut alas, I decided to "customise" some in my teens so many just look effing awful.

Some nice displays there though ...

I haven't really taken any. It is a nice enough car but not really exciting. I will try and take a couple and get them up on here.

Re: New car

V60, I don't need V90 size and I slightly prefer the shape of the 60.

Has a lot of toys which is nice. Definitely doesn't me as nice a noise, but the HK upgraded stereo cover it nicely.

New car

The S5 got traded in on Friday. Great car, but we are needing to do more miles, with ailing parents at both ends of the Country (Forres and Wantage) so I went back to my confort zone and bought Swedish.

It is a very nice colour, and a very comfy place to be, only driven it back from the dealer and ...

But it was a well known secret, like George Michael not, in fat, liking the lovely girls. Jonny Rotten or Sid Vicious brought it up and got cancelled decades ago. But I do take your point, I just theink a monarchy is effing ridiculous, particularly in it's current form, ditto House of Lords ...

Re: Prince Andrew…

Big Brother Charles was very good chums with Saville, perhaps this, or at least the sh1t show that follows will rid us of a constitutional monarchy, leave them a wee house each, take the rest back and just make them museums, or the world's most expensive hotels for idiot rich people to stay in.

Fuel Guardian

Just got a letter saying I owe £154 to Fuel Guardian and FG have passed the debt to Advatis debt collection. Just googled FG to see WTF they are, so looks like someone has bought fuel and not paid. Sod's law the lines shut at 1pm on a Saturday and I am just in from a cycle so will chase up on Monday ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Daughter's Ka wouldn't start, jump leads sorted it then off to the garage for a new battery. Really struggled on the way as my daughter said it wouldn't accelerate properly, left her stiuck at a roundabout. I was there and came round and blocked the roundabout in the Mini but by teh time we reached ...

Re: Motosport / Car Memorabilia

I always wanted to do that with my Volvo 440i seats, THE most comfortable car seats ever.

But I’m a lazy fucker so hey, there you go

I had a 440 GLE as my first Volvo and loved the heated seats, but later S60 seats and Saab 95 Aero seats were better. Even though th S5 and E Class have lovely ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

THat was what wrote off my E class, pan roof jamming then blockages. The S5 is in to teh garage to try and work out why it keeps steammng up inside, looked at all drain holes, sill plugs etc, I am really hoping it is something simple, as otherwise I will probably cut my losses and change the car.

Been checking the weather cams over Carter Bar as I am off to Hull later as I have a family funeral tomorrow. Wish I had the all season tyres from the Superb on the Audi, I suspect with correct tyres it would tackle most no drift snow.

Looking back (no way am I attempting to quote" it saod look for promotion, don't buy a car, so one our of two!

We did get Emily's might Ka Edge, surley a contender behind Dan's car and that of ScottA. I swapped the Superb for the S5 and promptly put 10k on it in 6 months, perhaps I should have gone ...

Anyone had anything back? Last email we got said probably December we would hear.
