Re: Cheap whisky

What an absolute pile of cock! Aldi or Lidl kept winning whisky and spirit prizes, proving cost is no reflection of quality or taste. Probably appeal to the special ones with 007 plates on their Astons though.

And any other vehicles in the household just to be safe 👍
And install bearings in all the drawers in the house. Can never been to careful.
If they soft close do I still need bearings?

Should i get a spare wheel bearing to carry for roadside emergencies?

Re: Your fleet running reports

Likely wheel bearing away in the S60. Happily appears to be a fraction of the cost of the previous gen V70 bearings which is nice. Have it booked in to see if putting through another MOT s wort it. I rather hope it is.

FP1 and FP2 have been cancelled at Imola for "logistics reasons". FP3 on Saturday has been extended from 60 to 90 minutes.
Should make the race interesting, especially if anyone has an off.

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

Well my Cube is going in for a check of gear slippage. They measured the cassette when they changed the chain which I broke so worst case scenario it is new bike time! :D Assuming I can actually get one. The Trek 5 which my daughter uses is having it's first service too, must get round to swapping t...

Bit unfair Rich - it’s not easy to type into your phone when you are running round flushing all your bogs.  Still only got three and likelihood of adding an extension is about zero. Current plan is new posh bathroom, garden room (no toilet) and some new doors and a lick of paint etc.

Re: Wheel bearing/s

Prescient thread, was driving the Volvo yesterday and when you put weight on the front left which no doubt will herald a largish bill.

Thanks to this thread, I know to just change the one though at least. :)

Re: FTAO of nefarious

Try £80k, and don't even get me started on the fucking Drive festival and all the consultancy fees paid out. They were genuinely claiming that they were going to double the attendance of Ignition in Glasgow, despite no guest stars, no F1 cars and being in Kelso (arsehole of nowhere for the non-Scot...

It’s amazing what tracks are available when the FIA don’t ask for $100 million per race. Who would have thought.
Surely Liberty, not FIA? But I get the point.

Re: Extension building and my own naivety

Take advantage of the drop in stamp duty rates and move! Nowhere nice locally, I think we may just do up the main bathroom with a power shower short term with a view to moving in three years, when my lad starts HS as we then have a whole catchment area to consider. I have to be honest, despite actu...

Extension building and my own naivety

Rather than moving house we had a thought that we might build a small bedroom extension off the back of our house. We googled and the net said £1000 ish per M2.      After getting my crayons out to try and work out how large it would need to be it ended up 19.4 sq metr...

Re: No F1 thread?

Ocon is a funny one, his story is the type that should have fans flocking but I just cannot take to him at all. Russel would surely benefit from a move up the grid in the next season or so though, he is clearly a talent and it would be a shame to see him languish at Williams. (or better, Williams do...

Re: No F1 thread?

I cannot see why they would take Vettel (apart from the cachet of a 4 times champ) over Perez, since blown floors disappeared, he has had very few top level performances, and they have been dwindling over the last few seasons. Perez makes fewer mistakes and tends to get the most out of his car. I ag...

Re: Used Boxsters - Talk to me....

Nope, I’m hopefully going for a 2006 3.2 987 S instead. 84K miles, FSH, has been bore-scoped and has the few spec things I was after, the main one being heated seats as I remember that was a must-have for winter top-down drives up here. That dark blue 986 with two-tone leather was a favourite, but ...
