Re: Your fleet running reports
THat was what wrote off my E class, pan roof jamming then blockages. The S5 is in to teh garage to try and work out why it keeps steammng up inside, looked at all drain holes, sill plugs etc, I am really hoping it is something simple, as otherwise I will probably cut my losses and change the car.

Re: The Weather Thread.
Been checking the weather cams over Carter Bar as I am off to Hull later as I have a family funeral tomorrow. Wish I had the all season tyres from the Superb on the Audi, I suspect with correct tyres it would tackle most no drift snow.

Looking back (no way am I attempting to quote" it saod look for promotion, don't buy a car, so one our of two!
We did get Emily's might Ka Edge, surley a contender behind Dan's car and that of ScottA. I swapped the Superb for the S5 and promptly put 10k on it in 6 months, perhaps I should have gone ...

Re: FCA Investigation - Car Finance
Anyone had anything back? Last email we got said probably December we would hear.
I received this on December 17th:
“We’ve decided to end the complaint handling extension on 31 May 2026, rather than 31 July 2026 as consulted on. This will help ensure that consumers do not wait any longer ...

I can't see the pictures sadly, but I know what an AK47 looks like so I am imagining a big bore version. Have fun

Not a surprise of course. Be nice to think there might be some consuquence to that and the £10Bn that was apparently fraudulently claimed in business relief during covid...

Re: Car dilema
Actually, check the price of an Audi service plan for your car. It’s a massive saving on my S6 over paying for each service if using a main dealer. And if you buy at the right time of year - I think it’s around October/November - they seem to do a 25% discount.
No main delaer near me, and my ...

Re: Car dilema
So is it just servicing you’re worried about? Changing to an unknown new car doesn’t sound like a great plan!
Not really, just that with th emiles I am clocking it just seems a little like I chos ethe wrong car. It may be that the S5 laps up th emiles and servicing os probably no dearer than a ...

Re: Car dilema
Thank you, did a quick and easy trade in valuation on a garage website and it reckond the car had dropped £6k over 7 months and adding 11k miles so not worth changing. I could no doubt sell it provately for more, but the hassle of that outweighs any benefit, will just keep the Audi another year or ...

Re: Car dilema
I’d stick with what you have if you enjoy it, if it’s more economical than you expected and it’s been solid and not showing any signs of deteriorating.
If you swap you’re taking a leap into the unknown and if a diesel E-class isn’t any more economical what is the point? Just the bigger boot ...

Re: Car dilema
M340d or Alpina D3? Should offer similar performance to S5 and available in Touring form.
I am not looking to sink too much into the change, so upper limit likely to be £20, maye £22k. Would love an Alpina.
Eldest is off to Uni, hopefully St Andrews, so not wanting any sort of monthly payments ...

Car dilema
Morning, As you may know, I got the S5 back around May time, and was very happy indeed. Sice then I have clocked up 11k miles which is far more than I expected.
My daughter does now have her own car, which will cut down on trips slightly, but with older realtives in Forres, Oxford and Aberdeen ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
The passat sport TDI I had briefly had the manuel and auto handbrake. It worked OK, I preferred the normal handbrake in the Superb that replaced it, and the auto HB had had a grands worth of remedial work done to it just before I got it.

Re: No F1 thread?
I am sure he was more than the pantomime villian he was often portrayed as by the broadcasters. But he seemed to have far more influence than he should have done, so i am not sad to see the back of him.

Re: No F1 thread?
I would rather either McLaren driver won, as it would be nice to have another WC on the grid. I get teh impression that Lando was told some time ago, not to come across as conceited, and so is far too down on himself. He does seem to have lessened that as this season has progressed.

Re: No F1 thread?
Interview after Sprint Quali seemd to suggest it was a short term gig while someone took over FT liasing with HSR, I think they said. He said he planned to be at the first few races so it made sense, it will be interesting to see what happens, it would be great to see Alonso back near the front, I ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Basic 60k service on the S5 this past week. new brake fluid, rear pads, oil filter, cabin filter etc. £540 odd.
At least it didn't need new tyres, as I have no doubt they will need all 4 doing at once! :D

Re: Roger Clark Rally tomorrow
Jeez, that is only 40 minutes from me, and I knew heehaw about it. Loved watching Jimmy McCrae when I was a kid.
Not got a clue how one watches WRC nowadays. Online presumably.
Crap parking and dumb spectators doesn't surprise me, but given the deaths a few years back at the Jim Clark, I guess ...
