Beany wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 4:46 pm Then I imagined a screen that says "Live, love, laugh" in a horrible font, and the sound of a drunk estuary girl cackling in a wholly grating manner.
I think I'd keep that. Dirty.

Re: Bye bye Sturgeon

Her scouse roots mean that she finds the concept of landlording mildly offensive to her Trotsky-esque principles, whilst also quite enjoying the trinkets and baubles it brings. She solves this moral dichotomy by simply pretending it's not happening. Think young kids watching the scary bits of Dr ...

Set aside a few hours to go through changing settings then

I turned off the wanky noise and graphics when you get in/start up as well.

Oh, and if you do go for one, don't be boring like me - I chose Cheltenham Grey for both the sides and centre panel because I wanted it to be unobtrusive. And it is, but I think it looks nicer with a contrasting centre bit.

I had an Andersen Quartz charger fitted

I like the looks of these, but do they offer a tethered version? And if yes - where is the cable held?

Yes, I went for a tethered one. The cable is entirely external and hangs on a separate hook. I can confirm that the 8m cable feels at least twice ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I decided to test the water by advertising the Beetle to see if I'd get any interest, deposit left less than a day after the advert went live and I've got six interested buyers in reserve! Collection on Saturday and then the Caterham hunt can step up a gear.

I would say changing the Beetle for ...

Re: EV Thread

You definitely get regen even if you don't think you are - if you do a few miles on an A-road then there will be battery charge when you come to a halt and it'll pull away without the engine on. The engine cutting in and out is sufficiently subtle that you don't really notice it so do check the ...

Have you been able to configure a nice orange for the interior lighting to go with the outside? I found purple straight away and didn't look any further

Re: EV Thread

I had an Andersen Quartz charger fitted after buying my M5 because trying to share one charger is a pain. And I've been happy with it, though it wasn't cheap to fit due to where it was going (plenty of expensive cable required from the consumer unit) and the fact we already had a charger so needed a ...

Re: Harry’s Garage

£700 doesn't seem too expensive in the context of a 930 Turbo and being one of the nicest steering wheels ever made.

The Miami Vice look would be great through the whole interior 8-)

Re: Harry’s Garage

I like the all-white wheel. I think the leather-covered horn push looks nicer on Harry's car than the plastic one that was fitted and wasn't original anyway, but I've always dislike that steering wheel design so I'd still suggest he fits one of these instead: https://www.design911.co.uk/p/sports ...

Congrats - I was wondering when the thread would arrive. I think the colour looks more red in photos than in the flesh (from memory - I’ve not seen Sakhir Orange for a while). Great colour anyway.

My wife found a shop she wants to visit in Fort Augustus so maybe I’ll get to take a photo of our ...

Re: Today’s want

Apart from the ND3 not yet being tunable by BBR, I have no desire to alter a fairly new car which is already fast enough. There's something about the way the Jag V6 fits in the mk1 and mk2 which appeals.

Re: Today’s want

I like it but at £29k it’s not very appealing. I prefer the Rotrex route, only up to 300bhp but DIY friendly and looks OEM+

£29k includes suspension and so on I think. The basic stage 1 engine is under £7k+VAT, so there's labour obviously in it too. I'd like to know a bit more about what you ...

Weirdly it was only for the Panamera 4S e-hybrid; the Panamera Turbo e-hybrid configurator worked fine.

Re: Today’s want

The neatness of the installation is one big advantage I think - the Jag block is lighter than the original MX5 engine and mounted slightly further back.

I do really fancy one myself. I really need to have a drive in one to see if it pushes me into it - I'd probably want to find the most appealing ...
