Scott Adams was also a vaccine denier - though that's more wibble than his other views which were simply offensive.

Re: Decent car YouTubes
Thanks for sharing Simon, glad to hear you enjoyed it too :D it was good fun to make and cool to have a bit of an adventure. Someone in the comments suggested I go to the 10 worst rated service stations next
I’m sure 10 worst is better for views. Was wondering if this one might go viral ...

Re: Decent car YouTubes
Youtube offered me this yesterday and I enjoyed it:
Nice one @Gavster. I had no idea so many service areas had nice bits out the back. Also, well done including a slightly lingering shot of the Caterfield.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Apple have definitely updated Carplay so it scales icons etc to suit the car screen - that's probably the difference.
Annoyingly I find the larger icons obscure things on the maps now so I'm not massively pleased with the change

Re: Your fleet running reports
Yes, it has a panoramic roof unfortunately. Would have preferred one without but was standard fit on the 4.8.
Similar problem with Touaregs - the top spec has them as standard. They aren’t standard on the Escape spec I want but the most likely one I’ve seen advertised so far has one. Thank you ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
I assume you had a sunroof Harry. Got to be the starting point for investigation.
I’m specifically looking for a Touareg without a sunroof to avoid exactly that issue. Long term I don’t think any sunroof is a good thing.

You're all doing it wrong, last time I went to Italy I paid about £150 for return flights and about £50 a night for a little private villa overlooking the sea

Re: Holiday prices
Yep, we've always booked Flights separately and got our own Villa.
Last time was before Covid 2018 - 3 Flights to Alicante were about £1000 and we got a 3 bed villa in a complex, rented directly form the owner, for 2 weeks for £1,200. No private pool but 3 different pools in the complex ...

Re: Waze speed camera warnings
I travel the route Jobbo got caught on a couple of times a week. The camera vans are quite prolific, Waze has saved me a number of times. But yeah, very straight road and I think Waze warns you 0.3 miles before the van which isn’t sufficient there.
I’ve noticed Waze doesn’t always give me an ...

Re: Holiday prices
I haven't been to Europe for a while but had vaguely noticed the prices going up. It doesn't feel long since you could get a week for two (not school holidays) for well under a grand including flights and reasonable hotel.
Hotel rates have definitely risen a lot (I used to think £300/night was what ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
That generation of Polo was so slow - even the 1.3 only had 55bhp and they were a fair bit heavier than an AX. The 1.1 AX had 60bhp. I kept managing to get my Polo stuck in gear because I rammed through the gearlever so hard in my effort to make it accelerate. Oh, and the brakes were shit; lack of a ...

Re: Lego
Apparently the Mansell one was being sold off for £20 recently. After pre-ordered that at full price because I thought it would be highly in demand, I think I'll hang on for discounts on Schumi. Never liked the grooved tyres on F1 cars either so I know they're right but it makes the model less ...

Re: The Weather Thread.
We were on the edge of the weather last night clearly. Within 30 minutes of getting home from work my car had a couple of inches of thick wet snow on it, but I moved it under cover and this morning what had fallen was already melting away. But a bit further north was somewhat worse so I've had fun ...

Re: Waze speed camera warnings
It was on the A417 near Cirencester. Anyone who travels that road knows it's very straight so with their laser sights they can see you a long way away and get a proper speed reading. Annoying; I saw the Waze warning, lifted off and slowed to about 75 on the speedo by the time I could see the van ...

Waze speed camera warnings
I slowed down when I got the warning of police ahead on new year's eve, but not quickly enough. So if Waze could somehow make the alert a bit earlier please that would be great. Thanks.

i think i bought this in 2005 from Gavster:

then my CTR in 2006.
That brings back memories, such a sideways car  once made a friend sick driving home from a party, she climbed out the back and immediately vomited in the gutter.
I have no idea ...
