Re: Today’s want

I think black would look alright in the flesh, until caked in brake dust. Graphite would be my preference. The car itself has a nice monochrome look overall with the pearl white paint and black details, so the silver wheels stand out more than they ought.

I'd still be tempted to get another set of ...

Re: The Watches Thread

There's plenty I like about that watch - the picture of the case after milling is cool - but it's not for me.

My new Seiko has a 72hr power reserve which is nice, but from the box it's running at +15s per day. I will get it regulated I think; it's such a nice watch I want it to be decently accurate ...

Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet

I'll aim to be there when C&M open - I'm sure we will hang around there a while. Bit more hospitable than a windy car park on the Ridgeway.

Do C&M in Ampthill have people marshalling where you park? Might need to arrive together Marv 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

What, wouldn't you rather see the MX5 which has only ever been on an OV9 curry meet? Yes, I'm bringing the big purple one.

Re: Your fleet running reports

My name is Jimmy and I have IBS issues.

Bloody BMW decided to put an intelligent battery sensor in the E60. Sadly, it's caught Donny T's dementia and been very very not intelligent. Firstly it threw a voltage issue and needed the negative cable from the battery replaced and then spat it's dummy ...

That was taken on our Oxfordshire meet by a photographer who waits at that corner and sells pictures of anyone who passes.

Re: Audi S6 Avant end of term report

Weirdly it was available with the V6 petrol twin turbo from the RS4 and Macan GTS in other markets, including the EU - I don't know if they offered both petrol and diesel in some markets. Ireland definitely got the diesel only. The petrol version did have real exhaust pipes. Audi removed the fake ...

Re: Selling Property

For what they do I think professional movers are incredibly good value. What is the alternative - hiring a van? How many trips would you need and how much time to shift the entire contents of a house?

Re: M5 test drive report and new car thread

Thanks Mike - it was 2010 that I sold the E39 so how time flies. And yes indeed, I've had four V8 5-series Tourings previously (didn't have a V8 version of the F11 because I couldn't find one and the G31 wasn't offered as a V8) so I really had to get one I suppose  Funny how the social media ...

Re: Selling Property

I've decided I don't ever want to do this again

Yeah, I didn't mind it previously (last moved in 2017 and I'd been in the same house for 8 years then) but I definitely don't want to move again

Simon, our removal company didn't do everything on the completion day. They picked up a ...

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

From a review I've found you can switch it quite easily to class 3 mode (presumably in the USA) which is assistance up to 28mph. I wonder if the UK bikes will be as easy to adjust the mode on?

I do use turbo on steep climbs but I don't think the 100Nm upgrade made a massive difference over the ...

Re: The Watches Thread

It's quite hard to get a good photo of it but it's lovely in the flesh. Also a rare Seiko where it's worth keeping the bracelet on; it feels much higher quality than I'm used to and the fold-over part of the clasp is buttery smooth with two sprung ball bearings holding it shut, as my Tudor Black Bay ...

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

I did watch that video a few days ago and was impressed - not so much with the power since it's not as if I use turbo mode very much on my Bosch bike - but with the price. The bike itself, with the kit on it, seems excellent for the money.

Interesting 6 month review of the PL here: https://www ...

It’s a bad angle for the photo, and possibly a bit of me not angling stuff quite right.
