Re: The Watches Thread

That’s a lovely watch which I’d really like myself. If it came to buying one, I’d always go for something more eye-catching, probably to the detriment of long-term happiness.

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

If we have a delay but it means we still leave (with a deal) then what have the Brexiteers got to moan about? I think once the voting is done BJ will call a GE on the basis he could win a majority off the back of getting a Brexit deal and the other parties being split. Whether he can do that and wi...

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

Oh and an impact assessment on what? A future trade deal that hasn't been negotiated? If you rejected it on the basis you haven't had someone attach some hypothetical made up figures to it then you're really just searching for an excuse. An impact assessment of a proposed major change to our countr...

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

I don't think it'll get through on Saturday because plenty of MPs who might be willing to support it won't have had any real time to consider it, there's no impact assessment, etc.

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

Being outside the customs union is the thin end of the wedge, hence my deliberate phraseology. I agree that there has been some success in getting the EU back to the table. I still think Boris is going to be found out for having said different things to different people yet again, but for the moment...

It's N5BOJ - I've got a bit of a thing for keeping the plate as short as possible. Going to keep our eyes open for any interesting 3 or 4 character plates at DVLA auctions too. 4RSE would be great.

The backstop has disappeared by sacrificing a few things held dear: Northern Ireland being part of the UK (now have to fill in customs declarations when sending goods there) ECJ jurisdiction (NI will still be subject to its jurisdiction) Breach of s55 of the Taxation (Cross-border Trade) Act 2018: h...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I've had the SIM card in it for 13 months - had the car itself since June 2018, so 16 months. It's a 2yr lease so goes next June. Replacement will not be a lease, because I'll be doing far too many miles. Wavering between a Golf GTD, Audi A6 Allroad and BMW 530d xDrive Touring, though pondering var...

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

Do you reckon they will be given a choice on Saturday of This deal or No deal? Boris and Cummings have manoeuvred such that May's deal can be presented again, so there could be a vote on which of the two draft deals Parliament prefers. I think No Deal can be ruled out. ETA: have you ever made any m...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Volvo update - I have used 664MB of data since September 2018 updating apps and for traffic info on the Sensus thing. That's well within the 200MB/month free 3 SIM card I have in the car. Maps require you to download them to a USB stick to update (still free, but more effort and doesn't use the car'...
