Never noticed any difference on any vehicle in any country between different fuels, ever.
DYELC?

I'm sure I'd notice if I put diesel in a petrol tank or vice versa. But I agree, never noticed anything perceptible and never carried out controlled experiments.

I wasn't aware, but Confused.com do nearby petrol station prices, which is useful:

https://www.confused.com/on-the-road/petrol-prices

You do need to register to see SUL or details of more than just your nearest, though.
www.petrolprices.com has done it for years.

Re: Lego

Argos have a couple of bargain sets on offer currently - 50% off the Technic Porsche 911 RSR and the Ninjago Destiny's Bounty ship. There's also 25% off the Technic Chiron, though I've seen that cheaper previously and won't bite until it's sub-£200. RSR though seems popular on here and it's now only...

The Tate/Polanski bits were an utter was of time and felt like filler. What a waste of Margot Robbie.
Y'see, I thought they were excellent and could have been longer. Whereas showing us a western with Di Caprio in it left me bored.

Re: The Movie Thread

In that case I'll only see the unedited version 👍🏼 There's talk of the "full" full version being put on Netflix as a mini-series. 4hrs+ I believe, with several of the characters fleshed out more than the film running time constraints permitted. I thought as I watched it that there were bound to be ...

Yes but once I've switched on cruise control, I don't like to have to meet my feet. Simpler.

Re: Your fleet running reports

False sense of security? Well, you’re still driving the car so forget that at your peril. The Volvo autopilot mode is great for reminding you you're still driving. It randomly decides it can't see the lane markings any longer so with a quick vibrate of the steering wheel it disengages the self-stee...

Re: Your fleet running reports

The Volvo has all sorts of collision avoidance stuff - it'll stand on the brakes if necessary.

It also shows you on the speedo the speed of the car in front, so you can see how much slower it's going than you as you approach. Can't remember if the Golf did that since it's been a while.

Re: Your fleet running reports

That's my previous experience of it in the Volvo too - but the fairly basic mk7 Golf which I drove with it allowed you to set it close enough to the car in front that you're tailgating to persuade it out of the way

Re: The Movie Thread

I want to see it but with the censorship here, is it likely to have a running time of 15 minutes? Much in it that is likely to be cut? I'll wait for a decent torrent of it if so. It's hard to answer that without spoilering, so I won't - but look back at this question after you've seen the proper re...

Re: Your fleet running reports

The Volvo was a pretty ideal car for a trip to the Scottish islands and Edinburgh. Saw quite a few V90s including a number of CCs so it's definitely their stamping ground. Managed 32mpg on the way up and 29.something on the way back, so not as terrible economy as it was before it was run in. The jou...

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood That's on my list - apparently not brilliant but will see for myself :D I've seen quite variable reviews. No spoilers in them, nor from me, but I think it'd be worth watching just for Tarantino's cinematography. A refreshing change from CGI everything, even if he may w...

Two films over the weekend (missing the opportunity to see shows at any time in Edinburgh, so we booked a couple once home): Yesterday - saw this at the Sherborne Cinema in Gloucester, which Jimmy might know. It's a converted Christadelphian hall and rather a lovely venue, though it was a bit warm s...

That was fascinating. Haven’t seen a modern engine taken apart before. The simplicity of the bolt-on modules, effectively, is a joy to see.

Re: Your fleet running reports

On the puma that was caused by a flaky rocker cover gasket (and was horrible to clean out), but I'm not sure if that's relatable to the E90 330 lump. Clean it up - decently - take a picture, and next time you do an oil top up, see if the oil has returned. It genuinely could be just a spill. Definit...

It's simple for me. Having nothing to do, hence my penchant for sitting in a field with a book and a beer.

There's always something to do at home.
I’d love to buy a holiday house, but it would end up being somewhere else I’d go where there were loads of odd jobs to do 😄

Looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday!
I’m pleased you got back by train ok though. The M74 was nearly closed by flooding on our way up and the west coast mainline was actually closed.

I like that with sky if you want HD its an optional extra. And if you want 4K, you have to get multiroom.
And you own the boxes, but if you want to use two (and have the wires already there) you have to pay extra.

The only thing I really want to achieve is cancelling Sky completely, to be honest.
