Re: Today’s want

It's a Merc "thing" innit, putting everything on one stalk. I hate it too. The Vito was the same and didn't even have the excuse of needing the other side for the shifter.

Re: Today’s want

Or from a Range Rover Sport. It’s at least slightly more generic looking, not blatantly BMW.

Re: Your fleet running reports

what else have you been "fixing"...? I think the standard reply to that kind of question is “your mum” ? :D It didn’t cross my mind they would be stretch bolts, I think I’ve only ever encountered those on cylinder heads. From googling they seem to be M10x30. I’ve got plenty of ordinary M1...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Possible progress on the Bentley. A very nice chap contacted me through eBay to say the knocking noise is likely to be the bolts securing the top mounts. They’re stretch bolts and if you re-use them (which I have, several times now  ) they bottom out and appear to be tight, but aren’t actually...

Re: Your fleet running reports

How have you managed that  My highest in the last 300 journeys (you can download this data from the app as an excel :ugeek: ) is 35.5 but then again I usually start or finish in congested city traffic. I think the 911 is capable of very similar fuel economy. Do you know if the pre-facelift V8 ...

38.0mpg on my drive to work this morning according to the app (yes, there’s an app for that), or 38.2mpg on the OBC in the car.

Re: Your fleet running reports

This is what I’m dealing with. Someone claiming to be be very interested. I did a start up video for them. They have evidently gone over the video with a magnifying glass and said they’ll only offer £5k because it’s rusty here on the top of the door. f91bf20b-f9d3-430f-a980-55697e166c5f.jpeg FRO :ro...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Is a biscuit tin more practical than a faraday cage bag thingydoodah? Do you want to keep your keys safe whilst enjoying a wee chocolate hob nob when you head out in the car? It was cheaper ! Would a bag be better ? Genuine question. If the bag’s advantage is portability, surely it’s only useful if...

Re: Uber Black: Ar$e reviews of back seats

Hmm. TBH I’ve not spent much time sitting in the back of the Bentley. It’s a bit reckless when I’m driving  First impressions of the RR vs what I recall of the Bentley is pretty similar comfort although the Bentley has a lot more legroom. You’d need a LWB Range Rover to match it. General ride o...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I was wondering if a metal biscuit tin works as a Faraday cage so I tried it. It seems it does.

Key near car, you touch the door handle, the car unlocks.

Key in tin, even right up against the door handle, touch it, nothing.

I think milk is more traditional with cocoa pops!
Back in student days, one occasion after a big night, and probably still drunk, I decided to have beer on my cornflakes. Not nice. I do not recommend it.

Re: The Wine Thread

I like the type from the Co-op that comes in a 3 litre box. https://www.coop.co.uk/products/co-op-fairtrade-white-blend-box-3-ltr A lovely South African chardonnay too, very nice. The web page says 30L which certainly should see you through to the weekend. I think I tried that and didn’t like it - ...
