The enrichment was getting elected.
Not sure you'd be able to prove causation on that.
Well, he got convicted on all 34 charges. QED.

Re: Your fleet running reports

Cayenne failed its MOT yesterday, for parking brake efficiency. I never use it so I’d not noticed. Today I pulled them apart and there was only half a piece of friction material across all four shoes  Three were completely bare. No sign of where they’d gone either. New shoes fitted today but th...

Re: Trump guilty

I can't see where the element of enrichment or loss was going on here... The enrichment was getting elected. The story coming out right before the 2016 election would have jeopardised that, the whole "catch & kill" was crucial to not derailing his campaign. On that basis DoJ were able...

Re: Do automatic ICE cars need tachometers/rev-counters?

Engine noise, speed, rate of acceleration, even time since last gear change… some or even all of these are used to know when to change up or down. You shouldn’t really need to look down at a rev counter I agree with this. If you're thrashing it to the point you're constantly near the redline you sh...

Re: Trump guilty

This is a good outcome. Can he run while serving a sentence? Seems impossible that he can run for president when convicted criminals can't vote (I think). He could be jailed and still be President, the US is that weird. Despite convicted felons not being allowed to vote, or hold security clearance....

Weather. Especially our winters where it fluctuates either side of freezing instead of staying one side or the other.

Apart from 15 metres faster on the quarter mile. It does the quarter mile in 15 metres less than a quarter mile ? Impressive ! If they're genuinely quoting quarter mile performance as a relative measure and in metres now, it's just an obvious misdirection from discussing how the time difference is ...

Re: FAO BMW i3-istas

I hadn’t, tbh, they seem to start at £13k but are a touch newer for the price so that’s fair enough. However, I expect she’d want a convertible as that’s what she has now, and the electric convertibles only came out last year so they’re still £35k+. It’s a “no” to that :D I like the quirkiness of th...

Oh. You’re right though Dave! it’s a tall vehicle, noticeably taller than the Cayenne. In other news, I was wrong. This is a vanishingly rare event so it’s come as a bit of a shock tbh. The A-B-C pillars *are* leather ! It’s just that Land Rover have somehow managed to make them indistinguishable fr...

Which is exactly as it should do; the speed limit changes at the speed limit sign, not at whatever point afterwards you decide to slow down to the new limit.

Ah, OK. When it's only doing local trips I think the 3-pin home charger will probably be fine. We might even get away with a single overnight full charge per week.

Re: FAO BMW i3-istas

Thanks all - and apologies to Holley for forgetting you had one too ! (but worth checking you get a proper dual charger with it as not all i3's have them except for one of those home plug in ones) ? Is the dual charger part of the car ? I know nothing about this stuff (yet). There's already a hefty ...

FAO BMW i3-istas

This is Carlos & Mito Man I believe. I suddenly, slightly unexpectedly, have a window to add one to the fleet to replace the MINI. Usage would be daily short local journeys (<5 miles round trip) with occasional visits to in-laws (~70 miles round trip). We obviously have the RR for anything longe...

Nope. It's one of Mik's polls. Brand new only. Ferrari or Dacia and both have speed limiters (that actually work for sake of argument).

Ferrari bankrupt in a matter of months.

Ah - I wasn't complaining about the roll, that works OK, although you can tell the tyres really don't like it  But that's fine, I don't plan on driving it like that. I meant the general softness, it floats up & down a bit on undulating roads and seems to pitch back & forth a lot, especi...

Re: Speed Limiters - July '24

Won't this massively hit new car sales? Especially in the performance sector? No. Customer walks into Ferrari showroom. "Hello I'd like to buy a Ferarri. Does it have a speed limiter ?" "Yes" "Oh, that's a shame, I'll go and buy a Dacia instead, there's no point in buying a...
