Re: Used Boxsters - Talk to me....

Don’t worry, it’s going to rain next week!

(I am ranting as our planned Scotland holiday is next week!)

Re: Your fleet running reports

I hadn’t realised that’s where Spike Milligan’s grave was. I did have a brief look for Rod Hull’s house (he died there when he fell off the roof in 1999, adjusting his tv aerial) but didn’t know the address. Presumably, it’s the one with the wonky TV aerial? I remember reading that they were closin...

Re: Muzzles*!!!

I wore my Force8 respirator to Waitrose once but to be honest, I looked self consciously crazy. And it has bypass valves anyway so isn’t really the right thing anyway. Got some cheap cloth ones for free from work which are fine but I’ve also ordered a more classy looking Houndstooth one from Charles...

Re: Talk me out of buying a car

Finally moving on from browsing autotrader idly to actually going to look at a couple of cars. One has a wonderfully low mileage but it turns out that’s because it was SORN from 2015-2018 (something to do with it being taken back by a finance company). I don’t know how I feel about it, I almost feel...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Had the car idling in the driveway with roof down while I was closing the gate behind me. Small children wandered past and exclaimed “Wow cool!!” which always seems a good reason to own it.

Re: Your fleet running reports

That's Winchelsea sea wall BTW @Jobbo. Thanks for the tip! We had a fun day out and my son found a Geode on the beach which we split open - looks like we have a rock geek in the making. Excellent - it's a funny bit of coast, isn't it? But I really liked Rye and Winchelsea. And Dungeness, but not fo...

Thanks everyone. Am really pleased with it, that feeling you get on a flowing road when everything just clicks is amazing and is something I’ve missed for a very long time!
That’s exactly what it does so brilliantly! Happy driving!

@240PP Thanks for the offer! I’ve never been to Swindon!

Re: Used Boxsters - Talk to me....

I’m totally sold on the 987, but.... Have seen these two today. Under 10K, both had clutches and IMS. FSH. Am I mad to consider a 986 S? You’re not, my advice would be to drive both and see which you like. The 986 had a much more old school Porsche cockpit with the sides coming in steeply toward th...

Re: Used Boxsters - Talk to me....

So.... What’s the must-haves from a spec point of view? Adaptive dampers would be good - can't remember whether these are standard on the S - I think perhaps that's only the 997. Sports seats and sports steering wheel also nice options but you could live without. Sport Chrono and the 'sport' thrott...

Re: Used Boxsters - Talk to me....

Very happy with my 2006 3.2S - I can dig up the thread from this very forum where I was talked up from spending 6k on a 986 to rather more - worth it though. The cabin and level of fit is much better and it’s dynamically sharper. Everyone’s different but I find it plenty powerful and enjoy spinning ...

It used to be the highest % alcohol per price you could buy hence the tramp love but I think it has been undercut now.

Is it just me, or are modern toilets getting smaller? To reduce the amount of water required per flush I guess? The missus had her bathroom done not long ago and the turd aperture is miniscule, a stark contrast to some of the high capacity crap hoppers in the older (1960s built) part of work. It's ...

I would budget for a full fluid and filter change, especially the auto box, but that looks ideal.
Does have the benefit of being 2 miles away from my house too

My favourite gin is Adnams’ Copper House. I’m also enjoying Ophir currently.

Really do not recommend Spanking Roger which my wife brought back from Gibraltar. Rough.
Another vote for Ophir, I see Ophir, Caorunn and Gin Mare as similar in many ways.
