Re: Rev’s 1KRPM to the limiter in 3rd Fred

Coming out of the toll booths on the M6 toll would seem the best place for this?

No one has mentioned the divs doing 55mph in lane 1 and others hogging the middle lane at 62mph
And a queue overtaking in the outside lane at 67mph.

Re: Driving on the roads

Love driving, hate traffic. It’s worst in the South of England, because the roads are more congested and fewer people know which lane to be in on the motorway, it would seem. Getting up North to see the folks or even around the Fens with the Mrs makes the Porker a good investment but there are times...

Re: What a shit week..

Tonight, I was a first responder, and gave CPR until the ambulance left - I don’t think the guy survived, so I’m fucked.. As everyone else says - a really normal outcome, but a totally abnormal situation and very, very normal to keep re-thinking it and wondering what else you could have done. Drop ...

Re: Flu jab

I have got it almost every year since I was a med student. I’ve looked after people ventilated on intensive care with influenza the last few years and, careful as I am with masks etc I’m happy that my risk is high enough that maybe feeling off colour with the jab for a day or so is worth it. The way...

Flu jab

It always makes me feel a bit off for a day but bloody hell I feel awful this year. At least it shows my immune system is working, I suppose.

Everyone seemed to think Peaky Blinders was the absolute, ever-loving tits but I am two episodes in and struggling to see the appeal. Should I persevere?

Re: eBay 996 build thread

£130 for a used one. Apparently if I get the “4 armed” switches, I can get the OBC and cruise control activated. The chap I bought my Boxster from (facelift so might be different) had done exactly that. Annoyingly he replaced it with another Boxster and put back the original stalk to use the cruise...

Re: Losing a tooth

1. The idea of being sedated outside of a hospital terrifies me. If you are over-sedated and you hypoventilate or something goes the wrong way down your airway (seems likely with a mouth full of dentist) then you’re not going to have a good time. 2. When I was in anaesthetics, we had special general...

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

It's mostly austerity that has buggered the NHS but that is austerity layered on top of woeful financial and workforce planning dating back to the 1990s. I agree that Bozza can't soak up all of the blame for that.

Re: Your fleet running reports

I bought a lovely little cottage back in June, which also meant I'd no longer be walking to work. As much as I'd love to be using the 650i every day, it's far too costly, especially with the round trip being 60 miles. So I acquired a 2.2 diesel Civic (FN shape) from a family friend not long after t...

Suprised to hear various world leaders condemning the Luxembourg chap for essentially "no-platforming" bozza. Even Macron, who has not been our biggest admirer of late.

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

Well, back before CERN turned on the LHC and destroyed our original timeline (what we call the Berenstein Timeline), he would absolutely have had to resign. On this timeline, who knows? But if he loses the court case, it means he effectively lied to the monarch. Not sure what the first bit of your ...

Re: FTAO of mobile phone owners/users

A crappy, knackered folding case with a magnetic close clip. Worn, frayed, looks like you wouldn’t want it. And you probably wouldn’t as it holds my free work iPhone SE. Is it still straight? When I had an se it was the bendiest phone I’ve ever had I’ve had an SE for nearly 4 years (relegated to ba...

Re: Arthritis

Should be straightfoward then. GP just writes to Mr so-and-so and you should get an appointment. I assume the GP will already be familiar with your condition if they are giving you steroid injections etc. It's not easy surgery so if it's worked for your dad then this guy sounds like a keeper (discla...

Christ it's painful, my thumb joint has been getting steadily worse over the past couple of years, steroid injections mask it but when they wear off it's always worse. Doesn't help it's my mouse driving thumb either! Have you looked into orthotics? Can be useful, especially if the joint has worn du...

Mous case. Magical magnets will link it to a card wallet / foldy wallet / mount on your dash as is your whim. And it's sturdy as owt.
