Re: Anyone know anything about generators?
We've bought a few for the races after years of hiring them, but as has been mentioned, best bet would be to talk to someone who knows what they're talking about to understand how powerful a model you'll actually need in the real world. My limited experience running a variety of stuff off them makes...

Re: Decent Recent TV
Have started Lost In Space but after a few episodes I'm finding the whole thing a bit, "twee" for want of a better word. A lot of the jeopardy also seems very manufactured in a very unimaginative way. And already some of the stupidity of the characters is doing my nut. Does it get any bett...

Re: Decent Recent TV
I've got no issue with slowburners normally but Westworld really didn't get under my skin at all. Odd because it should be right up my street. I'll give it another crack at some point. My reaction was the same as yours at first, then it just clicked with me and I couldn't get enough. Part of the pr...

Re: Decent Recent TV
Westworld is just incredible, that latest episode was just wonderful television. I really, really need to download season 1 and watch it all again as there’s just so much going on. One thing though, the native Americans “painting” themselves white, was that an actual historical thing that happened a...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I saw a light blue Bentayga today. After marvelling at the size of its rear tyres I was then struck by what a hideous piece of tarted-up bling the air itself was. I shall assume the same observation would apply to the driver of said car, but boy does it just sum up everything that's wrong with "...

My son was showing me the trailer for this last night in a very excited fashion and I have to say it looks like being a bobby dazzler.

Local news is great sometimes. I love the fact they've put a big picture of Robert Downey Jr in the story. It reads like something Alan Partridge would report on.

I swear by JVC Air/Gumy or something for running in all weathers. They're about £15, ultra cheap, come with lots of different sizes of things to fit your lugs and are utterly bomb-proof.

Re: Who's paying the most for cars these days?
The conversation with the wife went as expected when she asked why we'd ended up with £600 less than expected. She still insists it was other kids who kerbed the alloys and then ran off. And as for the bumped doors and scraped boot sill, that was definitely down to the cats or atmospheric conditions...

Re: All-new 2018 Audi Q8 revealed - a BMW X6 rival done properly?
Seriously, who the actual fvck is buying these things? The X6 was bad enough, but then to see Merc copy it and now Audi? Is it some sort of man-child fascination and insecurity about having never done the Paris-Dakar, that they want to pretend they're doing it while on the school run?

Re: Salad Cream
Salad cream and salt with chips is braw. Who's forcing this, can we blame the EU or just the same bunch of cvnts who are forcing women on to every tv and radio show so they can be seen to be embracing gender equality, when what they're actually doing is diluting the quality/funniness of said shows. ...

Re: New 2019 BMW Z4 review – first drive of Z4 prototype
Much sharper to drive than before, much more aggressively styled, the Z4 at last has potential to rival a Boxster. Source: http://www.evo.co.uk/bmw/z4/21305/new-2019-bmw-z4-review-first-drive-of-z4-prototype I'm starting to get even more cynical about this and the futility of the car industry, maga...

Re: Who's paying the most for cars these days?
Is it a Cooper S ? Cooper D. And its now gone... Used WBAC in the end and it was a painless process. They bought our XC90 and their offer actually increased when they saw the car. This time round that was never going to happen given the hard life the car has had, but the deductions were fair enough...

Gap insurance on personal lease
So, what's the deal with gap insurance, is it a must-have on a lease? Presumably in the event of writing it off, the insurance company are looking to pay out for a replacement car of similar age, so will be market value whereas the lease company are looking for the full value? Any recommendations fo...

Re: Who's paying the most for cars these days?
Looks like WBAC is the front runner - their valuation is the highest and we used them to sell the XC90 which was an utterly painless process. I keep having the mad idea to sell it privately but I genuinely CBA dealing with people as most of them appear to be idiots.
