Re: Smelling Property
As we're just waffling. Interesting fact: in Danish there are words for good ("dufter") and bad ("lugter"/"stinker") smells. In English there is only a word for bad smells (AFAIK).
Bonus facts, "lugter" is negative when used alone, but can be positive if you add the word "godt" (good) after ...

Re: The Watches Thread
I guess it depends on what you perceive the value to be.
I'm not particularly bothered about the movement as long as it keeps time and works as expected. I get that on a skeleton style watch the movement is part of the artwork, but for this one other factors drive the cost. Perhaps it can (unfairly ...

Second-hand they're really good value too. With cables and an arm I've paid just shy of £250, can't really fault that. Monitor looks brand-new, not a mark on it.
Where did you buy Alex? That does sound great value
eBay. Specifically this one: https://ebay.us/m/w7eh1q

Yes, it is a massive improvement.

Was originally looking at a 34" but my wife was worried it was going to be too small for her needs.

Re: Graphical upgrades
Tangentially related: just upgraded my 2 x 23" FHD monitors to a single 38" QHD ultrawide (HP Z38C), and ermagehrd what a change! Why did I wait so long?
Need is driven by how we work in the office. All desks have 49" ultrawides running 5120 x 1440 resolution, and my puny old FHDs just couldn't cut ...

That raises rather difficult questions about who is posting on his behalf, then.

Re: It's Highway Robbery, innit
Nice. Depressing to see that my nearest is 7p/L dearer than the cheapest "nearby". But as that's a 20 mile round-trip, I'll just suck it up. Nowhere near here is cheap either.

Fair enough, the kids have only recently started buying those types of sets, so maybe I'm a bit rusty. We got there in the end, and he's happy he's got some AMGs.
