Re: Decent Recent TV

Finished Blue Lights (BBC). Not to be taken too seriously, but good entertainment with some decent characters and reasonable, if obvious, plot lines.

Only gripe is with a lot of the driving scenes where the sounds and what you see don't match, but that's a limitation of filming in a city, I guess ...

Re: Redundancy

Still going through the screening process, as per standard, the company that's doing it is useless. Endless requests for information I've already provided, and to use another service that just needs to connect to my bank/HMRC to verify information.

Sounds very familiar! - Experian by any ...

Re: Redundancy

It has been quite a long and tough slog so far, and it has had an impact on my mental health which I've not experienced before.

But, today I've accepted an offer for a role that I'm very excited about. Initially it is a one year contract, however there has been several mentions of them wanting ...

This should probably go in a politics thread, but it is bigger than any one of the ones we've got.

Re: Running

Running has not been quite to plan for the last couple of months. Started getting pains in my left knee, which then translated into the knee seizing up and taking a couple of days to recover.

Been building up slowly again and managed a pain free (until after) 6k last week. Diagnosed as runner's ...

Re: Car insurance

That too seems a reasonable assumption. The emails could have gone into spam, but that's not really an excuse.

Only other thing, given how upmarket that dealer is, you would have thought they would check on stuff like that and perhaps give him a courtesy call. I mean, our local Renault dealer rang ...

^ that. Unless it was written into the contract it seems a rather bold assumption. And, why didn't he even bother to check?

The more consistently and widely units of measure are used the better they are from a perspective of shared understanding.

Ideally it should also be based on a scientifically agreed standard rather than the length of Pinocchio's nose during winter solstice when he's just lied about farting. But ...

Interesting decision to have a maintenance window in the middle of the European working day. I assume that whatever needed fixing was so critical that it couldn't wait, not that some numpty can't work out time zones.

I stuck the winter wheels/tyres onto mrs-mik's E-Tron on Thursday night (after I'd got a coat of GTechniq wheel-armour onto them) too. Was worried the Vredstein Wintrac Pro+ were going to be rather noisier and squidgier than the ...

Zoe is doing quite well with the Cross Climate 2s that were fitted just over four years ago. We've done 30k+ miles on them, and there's still a smidge over 4mm on the fronts and 5mm on the rears. I'll swap front to back to extend the life ...
