Didn't know that. But the difference now is between "must have" and "nice to have".

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

And another great benefit of Brexit: if you drive to Europe after the assumed exit date you'll need an international certificate of insurance. It doesn't run for the duration of the policy and you'll have to provide the dates you're away, at least two weeks in advance. You'll presumably have to appl...

Re: FTAO of mobile phone owners/users

Never use screen protectors - they're nasty. A decent case will have a lip so the screen never touches a surface when face down, and never put anything in your pocket along with the phone, and you're all set. Try doing my job, just keeping a phone in one piece is a battle in itself This one is even...

My S10 is in a hard case with a wallet on the back, as I don't carry a separate wallet, the case holds 4 cards and 5x£20 notes so it's a good substitute for a wallet.
You couldn't squeeze another £20 note in? They're not exactly thick.

Re: FTAO of mobile phone owners/users

Work phone is in a case because I dropped it and cracked the back. Don't want the replacement option as it is worse than what I've got. Personal phone is in a case and has screen protector. Both came in the box and the former gives it some protection from enthusiastic children's lack of care/fine mo...

Re: CTIIRWOIWAHO

That would be very cool in a "I have absolutely no desire to own one and I am not even sure I should be accepting Nef's p-ride offer" kinda way. I had a passenger ride with him once, I still see that wall heading towards us. :o  Rubbish. When he gave me a ride in the Westie, I saw no walls h...

Nice big bike engine, about 200bhp. Decent suspension ...

Re: The Y2K Bug - Q for IT Guys

I can't remember what we did (but loads was done, we had plenty of ancient systems creaking along), but I remember the silly standby money we were paid to stay sober and contactable over Christmas and New Year). That and getting a vibrating high capacity battery pack for my Nokia 6110.

The technical section seems a bit light on detail, but that could equally be me not having the depth of understanding to join the dots. Either way I think it is at best a distraction (by Boris). If there are aliens on that planet they'll be squat and stout. 8x earth's mass will mean a rather heavy life

Slow your roll there Dave. I think the windscreen is not the factory-fitted one. Must be a corruption in your copy of Nathan's database, it's still the factory-fitted windscreen! After 16 years, it has loads of tiny marks on it and been repaired about three times (all before I owned it) could proba...

Demonic Cummings latest plan is teh awsume: We'll send the letter we're legally obliged to send but then send another letter saying to ignore the first. Former supreme court judge was on Today on R4 saying wouldn't be allowed as it would run counter to the intention of the act. Re: Bye Bye Boris!

I said I want Labour to get mauled at the polls by either Cons/TBP or Lib Dems. I want to see them lose a significant share of their vote to the other parties - any of the other main parties in fact. I'd have listed all the other main parties but I couldn't be 4rsed typing them out. ;) That in no w...
