FAO BenB? RichB?

Post by IanF »

I’m interested in installing a double Cardok system. Their UK team is awful at answering queries. I’ve spoken to them, they promise to email the info, but haven’t three times now! 🙄

The Swiss team called me today, and are better, but I was wondering if there are any alternatives out there? Have you used any of them?

Many thanks.

For others; this is a Cardok.

Cheers,

Ian

I was just interested in how much they cost - £35-55k! Blimey.

I hope they're weather and watertight.

Not really my bag, I do internal fit outs.

Very cool, but my main concern would be flooding!

Ah well. They have guttering around the top and a pump system installed, so should be fine.

Can you rig it to play a Bond theme as it rises up though?

It can be accessed by fob, pin code or retina scan, so I guess so! 😁

Regardless of the cost, you should absolutely do this. 8-)

Maybe it's because of my line of work but that doesn't seem that expensive to me!

Ok. For interest/balance, including a room above, a 2.5 garage is £175 to 250k. This loses some usage, we have to dig the hole etc, but it’s only about a 100k.

Does it an electrical socket so you can stick a dehumidifier in? Our inspection pit and bunker gets damp when not in use for a while.
How about not having a sig at all?

Has it got a manual winder for when the motor goes pop?

I'm sure I saw a story recently about a 'barn find". It was a MK2 Golf stuck in one of these things for the past x amount of years because the mechanism had broken.
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

Yeah, I’ve previously had advise about inspection pit vs lift in a garage.

Zip - they offer maintenance including an every two years inspection, think/hope this would be sufficient.

The cars will be used frequently, so I don’t envisage damp issues. #famouslastwords

The mechanism looks remarkably similar in size, and lift and mechanically to the 8ton lift table we have at work which is in use 24 hours a day 5 days a week and hasn't broken or got stuck in the 11 years it's been there.

I'm sure there would be some sort of contingency to be able to get to the hydraulics should something go wrong.

Flooding during a heavy downpour would be my main concern.

I’d be more concerned about flooding personally.

The biggest worry for me would be the risk of flooding.

I'd also be concerned about the dog running in there when I'm not looking.
